These ladies are killing it in Canonsburg. Amazing food and good vibes. Nina got the eggs Benedict bowl with bacon substituted for ham. Also the home fries and Holandaise saice, VERY tasty. I opted for a steak and egg wrap with double onions, hold the green peppers, and home fries (you can opt for shredded style hash rounds too). I was tempted to go with the brisket breakfast or lunch bowl special. If needing breakfast in Canonsburg this is a top recommendation. The original tin ceiling is magnificent too.
I love that places like this still exist!
Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by two wonderfully friendly, small-town ladies, and despite the diner being nearly full (it seats maybe forty people total), a four-top had just opened up and was promptly cleaned for us. We were seated quickly and made to feel welcome right away.
I ordered the sweet Italian sausage with marinara, which came with diced peppers and onions. Everything was well prepared and flavorful. One colleague had the grilled chicken bacon ranch wrap, and another ordered the meat lovers omelette. All of the meals were very good, with portions that felt generous without being excessive. Service was attentive and genuinely kind throughout.
The coffee was a pleasant medium roast with nutty overtones, and refills were offered regularly. I do wish half-and-half were available instead of non-dairy creamer, though milk was offered, and I understand that not everyone has the same preferences or dietary needs.
Prices were reasonable, portions were solid, and the overall experience was comforting and satisfying. Davis Diner delivered exactly what a good diner should: friendly service, good food, and a welcoming atmosphere. I would absolutely stop again if I’m in the area.
From the moment we walked in, I had a good feeling—and it delivered.
A few things to note: it’s cash only, extremely family-friendly (they even brought our kids goodie bags!), and they’ve got a great high chair. However, there isn’t a changing table, so keep that in mind.
The service was just as great as the food—friendly, welcoming, and super attentive without being overbearing. They really make you feel at home.
Everyone at our table left happy—no complaints at all. My omelet was awesome, and they definitely didn’t skimp on the ingredients.
I know pancakes are basic, but these were delicious and generous. Breakfast is served all day, and they’ve got great options if you want a full spread of eggs, meat, pancakes, and more in one order.
If you’re in the area and need breakfast, lunch, or brunch, this spot is definitely worth a visit!
It is a cash only place. They do have an ATM in case you did not bring enough with you. There are two entrances. If you can do the stairs, then the front entrance is for you, but there is a back entrance as well which has no stairs.
We got a sampling of different offerings for breakfast (they are open for breakfast and lunch only) and got some decent fare. Nothing was spectacular, but all was good and tasty. Quantities were plentiful so we were not going hungry.
The staff was very attentive and I believe almost all of them were from the same family. They clearly cared about the place and what they were doing which is a really good sign.
My son loved his huge pancakes and my veggie bowl was great. This was a great place for in-between hockey games if you’re in the area.
