We got the steak and lobster. The lobster was perfectly done and the steak was cooked properly to temperature. We also had the truffle fries which Lauren though were a bit dry. The Brussels sprouts were fantastic. This is a great spot to eat right before going to the best movie theater in the great Boston region.

After hearing rave reviews about Davio’s in Seaport, we chose Davio’s in Chestnut Hill (as Seaport was sold out) to celebrate Valentine’s Day last night with another couple, and were quite disappointed with our experience from the time we were seated in a heavily trafficked area where our chairs were constantly bumped by the servers for the entire night. There were no special flowers, roses or anything laid out on the tables, just basic white table cloths. Three of our orders were unsatisfactory. I ordered the lobster tails with mashed potatoes and was told it would be 2 tails; only one tail cut in half was received. My husband ordered strip steak with broccolli and mac and cheese. It was extremely salty so he did not enjoy his dinner. Another party ordered the filet mignon medium well and it was rare and bloody. By the time it was corrected and brought back to the table, the other 3 parties had completed their dinners. While waiting for over 10-15 minutes, she shared some of her husband’s bolognase dinner. I ordered coffee with a banana foster creme brule dessert; the coffee came first, and was cold. Another cup was brought to rectify that, and it too was no different. The wrong dessert was then brought to the table and with all the things going wrong so far, I said to just cancel the dessert order. Our bills together totaled over $500 and we still tipped 20% to the wait staff even though we were all full of despair for how the evening turned out. Not a very nice experience for people who dine out frequently at high end restaurants.

Today, I telephoned the general manager of Davio’s in Chestnut Hill, Luis Maggioli after he left a response for me to do so under my review. He was most apologetic to our uncomfortable experience, and wonderful in his demeanor to rectifying a positive outcome. He offered a very generous credit to my credit card account, with an invitation to return to the restaurant where he can further accommodate and treat us again. Thank you Luis for your calm ease in response to our situation. A true gentleman!

First time here the other day. Was thrown off that it’s inside of a movie theater but with that being said it was a beautifully decorated restaurant. The food and service were on point. Wish I got our waitress’s name, she was excellent. She was a shorter brunette girl with a braid. She didn’t miss any steps and nailed all the steps of service. The maple creme brûlée was delicious. We had such an enjoyable, pleasant meal overall. Will definitely be back.

It was a great experience being treated to a meal at Davios of Chestnut Hill. The greeters were welcoming, the servers were cordial and attentive, and dining was not rushed. I do believe that it was an owner who was circulating to inquire whether you were enjoying your experience. The menu was extensive and quite varied in selection choices. I had the braised beef with mashed potatoes, spinach, and onion rings. My meal arrived attractively served and hot. My only criticism would be the amount of salt. I’ve noticed though that since I’ve personally cut down (not eliminated) sodium intake that everything tastes more salty. My nephew had a scallop dish that he, too, enjoyed with no complaints. Also, should be mentioned that parking is plentiful and free surrounding the restaurant.

Davio’s has incredible food and excellent service. We created these balloons for a recent event they participated in at Chestnut Hill. Highly recommend them!

They were very welcoming to my family, warm and friendly. The food and service were on point. I had the fillet mignon and it was closer to mid-rare, even though I asked for medium. It makes sense since it was a really thick cut of meat. That said, the flavor was phenomenal and I am willing to eat mid-rare. My wife had the pumpkin gnocchi and she loved her dish. She also had a rosé mocktail and loved it. My daughter had the red sauce pasta and put it away like it was nobody’s business. Will be returning.

There were only two entree options for vegetarians (and nothing vegan) – spaghetti with marinara sauce and a butternut squash tortellini, which 2 people in our party ordered, one is vegetarian… it wasn’t even truly the height of the dinner hour yet and the waiter came back after taking our order to report they were all out… this is after our appetizers had been served (tuna tartar on avocado and crispy calamari, both of those were actually very good.) … the bread was odd little hallow puffs of crust. Dinner took almost another hour to be served… we ordered two pastas – the 2 who ordered the BNS tortellini went with the spaghetti (vegetarian) and the other chose the penne w/grilled chicken and sun dried tomato, two med-rare steaks, and two seared tuna steaks… not sure what of those orders took so long to cook, other than maybe the wide ranging temperature of both unevenly cooked steaks, because the pasta folks said those were both undercooked. The seared tuna was apparently quite good and cooked as expected. Eventually, the manager brought out a single dessert as a surprise for the person whose birthday we we’re celebrating, for all to share (lava cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a plate decorated with HBD in chocolate sauce)… the waiter only gave us 5 spoons because one person in our party was in the bathroom when he brought them, which was a few minutes before the manager brought the dessert out… then after some of us who wanted (luckily we didn’t need all 5 spoons anyway.) had some of it, the waiter brought out another one and seemed surprised when I indicated we already had one… all in all we were there for over THREE HOURS!! I suppose that’s another reason they have to charge so much, because they only turn over a table once a night! lol. Just a wild and wildly expensive restaurant experience for our whole group.

Very busy place. The service was below average. Servers didn’t put plate for one of the guests. Gave menus only to half of the guests and only one vine menu for the table. The menu was hard to read – the font was very small and formatted as if this was not a menu, but a one long article. The servers didn’t refill water. We’re waiting too long between servings. The food was OK, except desert, which was just too sweet and the cream was not done. The coffee was barely warm. I would say if you are OK with the price of about $100+ per guest for a dinner (drink, appetizers, main dish, coffee) do yourself a favor and go to a different place.

It was almost a home run. We started with their Ceasar salad, spring roll trio, and calamari. Everything was good except for the spring roll trio. The steak and cheese one was great, chicken parm one was delicious, then the buffalo chicken one was just drowning in blue cheese filling. It was not fantastic. Small portioned for the price, too. The bolognese was fantastic, perfectly cooked pasta. The risotto was not terrible. The steak was not bad. The mac and cheese side was really cheesy and luscious. We asked for brussle sprouts as a side and got green beans, which is weird, but we didn’t send it back, so that’s on us. The desserts were ok. Tiramisu, cheesecake, and bourbon toffee cake. The only really good one was the cheesecake. The Tiramisu was not terrible. The burbon toffee cake tasted like a piece of cake doused in alcohol. I do not recommend.

The part that really sort of made left us on a negative note was when the waiter took our food to pack it up, he stuck his fingers in the food when grabbing all of the dishes. We had quite a lot left over too and we ended up tossing it. It made it worse that we saw the guy wipe his sweat off his face right before. So, other than that, it wasnt too bad!

DAVIO’S just hosted a private party for us for 30 and it could not have gone better. The space was private and lovely, the food delicious, and the staff was incredible, so attentive, professional, and friendly. They were so accommodating as well with the dietary restrictions of some of our guests. We played our own music and even danced a bit and had so much fun.
