I ordered the family meal with a pound of 2 separate meats which I got chicken & catfish, greens, mac and cheese and muffins!
The fish was fried to perfection light cornmeal and flavorful.
The chicken thighs were smoked with so much flavor to the bone.
Greens were a little tough but edible.
Mac and cheese was good.
I noticed that others called the “muffins” corn muffins but I didn’t taste corn muffins. I tasted muffins rather like sweet bread or cake without icing type of muffins. Either way they were good as bread.

Davina has a very nice Soulfood establishment, giving you that feeling of “Home”, once you walk through the door. You already get the feeling that it’s going to be close to your momma’s cooking as you sit down. Certain dishes, (like my catfish plate) are cooked-to-order, of course. So, while waiting on varied “cook-to-order” staples to be added to our plates…(party of two), we decided to venture just down the street to this giant candy operation; Never seen anything like it. We purchased candy while sampling our hearts’ content on a half dozen samples, killing enough time to get back to our plates. I decided to get double meats, bcz it’s HARD to find a Soulfood joint in ANY city. Everything was on point,.. but the EXCEPTIONALLY standout items?…. lemme tell you; That CATFISH and that BBQ CHICKEN?…. was to DIE for. She can compete with the BEST of them, and EASILY win. The edges of the catfish were nice and crispy,.. leading onward to flakey flavorfulness,.. and the BBQ chicken wars truly Flame-grilled, and tender. Davina is a sweetheart, too, and she will not disappoint. Give her a FEW tries… you’ll be back.

This gem is located in Downtown Glendale, AZ. I was actually looking for something for lunch and it dawned on me that I had called a couple days before. The food was awesome . If you like koolaid, this is that AANNDD it’s watermelon on top of that. Greens with Turkey, yams, Mac and cheese accompanying bbq chicken and well flavored fish. Everything made from scratch!

Chef Davina is super sweet and we really enjoyed our meal today. We had the ribs, cornbread muffins, Mac and cheese and the baked beans. All the food was so fresh and delicious with full of flavor. The Mac and cheese was super cheesy and our 5-year old son loved it. The baked beans were the best I’ve ever had! When we were halfway through our meal, Davina told us we got a free dessert for coming in and ordering all the food we did. We had the peach cobbler and it was incredible! Highly recommend!

Cute lil black owned restaurant which is a big plus in my book. Met the owner, Davina, she is so hospitable. The food had me dancing in my chair. I had rib tips with mac-n-cheese and candy yams. My son had grilled chicken sandwich with baked beans and extra side mac-n-cheese. Everything was excellent. My son enjoyed his food as well. We will be back & I will be spreading the word

I found this place on doordash, most of the reviews were bad. Im like it cant be that bad. Welp I’m glad I gave this place a try. I order the rib tips with chicken, mac and cheese with greens. The rib tips were very flavorful and the sauce was prefect. The mac and cheese was good, everyone mac and cheese is different, but I liked it. The greens remind me of when I make my greens at home. They were tender full of flavor. Now. I did order a slice of sweet potato pie. The look alone screamed “nasty”, but let me tell you! I give the pie a 10 out of 10. It was prefect it’s to firm or too sweet it was just right! I will be going back, for more food and desert! I got the hour hour special, money well spent.

Davina knows what’s up! I got the two hot links combo with beans and everything was excellent. The links are nice and spicy! They go really well with her special bbq sauce too. Love how the sauce isn’t too sweet either!
This place is hard to find though. The best way to get to the door is to park behind the building (entrance on 54th Ave) and walk around. There is no parking in front the store. It’s also nestled between a massage parlor and carribean hair braiding. They have some signs out front that are colorful. Look for those.
