The BBQ short rib sando was great, and I understand that $18 is a “normal” price for a sando these days, but a side of plain tortilla chips with no salsa or other options?! Really?! Owner: Do you ever eat a side of plain tortilla chips?!? Didn’t think so. Add a salsa option or even *plain potato chips* would be a much tastier option! Fix this and I’ll give 5 stars!

Davids & Co to the rescue!
Really great chicken Caesar (that chicken was delectable, the croutons delicious!) before the symphony last night. Hustle-bustle atmosphere which was wonderful because everyone was in a great mood before Beethoven’s 7th! Friendly and helpful people, and we couldn’t be happier with bailing on Wild Ginger (they were having an “off” night, with uncharacteristic poor customer service). We will be back! I want to try those chips!

My poke bowl was very sad. The fish wasn’t too fresh but was edible. In addition to the fish this poke bowl contained a few sad strings of cucumber, some edamame, and a garnish of seaweed. The worst of it was a part I didn’t even know it was possible to mess up—the rice. It was half-cooked, cold, and crunchy. Even beginning cooks usually manage at least to cook rice, don’t they?!

I ordered the quinoa bowl, water and a glass of wine in a to go cup to take into the Symphony Hall. I was focused on the meal choices, didn’t pay attention to the drink prices. That was my mistake. The person taking my order said you know a double glass of wine will fit in that cup. I said, ok without looking at the price. $32.00 for a glass of wine. Most expensive drink I’ve ever purchased. The meal was ok. The greens were fresh but the vegetables were bland.

Good place for a quick bite if you want some BBQ. The meats are good, though they don’t have the strong smoke flavor that you normally expect from good BBQ. The price is good for Seattle, and you can get a punch card so that after 6 meals you get one free.

Maybe it’s just because I’m used to great bbq but this place had zero redeeming qualities. Pricing was the closest thing to a positive.

Now the fair and honest perspective of someone who grew up on Memphis BBQ and eats Texas brisket on a weekly basis.

The brisket was dry and lacked flavor due to being overcooked. This is a reoccurring theme for pretty much everything but the cornbread. The brisket lacked any of the correct colorings and seemed like it had been sitting under a heating lamp for some time. The char was uneven as well.

The pulled pork tasted like it came out of a crock pot and was overly salty. The meat lacked the tinder nature of a truly delicious smoked pork. The seasoning was overpowering any of the flavor that should have there naturally for the pork.

The sausage lacked any char at all and tasted like it was broiled and not smoked which is my best guess. Surprisingly this was the most flavorful of the meats.

If you need the meats that are normally associated with bbq but don’t need the flavors, I guess you could go here.

Flatbtread was well prepared and served hot. The Banh Mi was served on a cold, untoasted bun. It was unappealing.

Ate at the David’s & Co at the benaroya hall, umm hands down the WORST bbq I’ve had…ever. I love bbq and this was ridiculous. Never had cold brisket served before, if you could even call it brisket. It was more like brisket fat! The majority of our sandwhiches were fat chunks. I realize some people like that sort of thing but this was disgusting, and again cold. The homemade chips were good though.

You can’t go wrong with their burgers. I’ve tried sweet pulled pork in many places and this one is really worth to drop by for a quick bite, especially if you work around. The staff is very friendly and it’s not too crowded, in general.
