I’ve been here a few times. Never had any issues with customer service. Workers have always been friendly and helpful. Tried several samples without them complaining. Prices may be a little expensive but their ice cream is so creamy. Not much area to sit inside. There’s plenty of parking with a handicap ramp as well.

I’ve been to other locations, but in my opinion, this is the best one there is. You actually get full-size scoops here and everyone in there is friendly and helpful. It’s a really cute space just off the road. There’s free parking but not many of them. This ice cream shop makes all kinds of ice cream goodies, have them packed to go or you can pick some up already packed. Many of the flavors here you cannot find in stores. And Dave’s ice cream is super delicious and creamy. Some of my favorites are Poha Berry, haupia, and banana fudge. SO GOOD. Give it a try you’ll be glad you did.

Dave, not sure who you had working this Friday but the service was absolutely horrible. We came because we saw the ratings but when we arrived the woman who was working there was less than hospitable. She spent more time screw facing me and my family than greeting us when we came in the door. My wife even said hi to her and she glared at us as if she wanted to fight. I wanted to know what the problem was but I instead opted just to leave. Sorry, I am not a tourist but when people talk about horrible experiences in Hawaii I didn’t expect to have that at your shop. Can’t recommend at all to my coworkers.

I had a very unpleasant experience at Dave’s Ice Cream on Moanalua Road. I walked in wearing my military uniform and purchased two single scoops for my kids at $7.85 each. When I handed one to my son, he accidentally dropped it immediately. I politely informed the staff, and instead of showing any understanding, both employees looked visibly annoyed.
One shorter female employee cleaned up the mess, and another employee named Tehiva replaced the scoop. However, the way it was handled was extremely unprofessional—she tossed the cup of ice cream onto the counter with an obvious attitude. If they had simply explained that they couldn’t replace the scoop because my son dropped it, I would have understood. Instead, the service felt rude and disrespectful.
Paying nearly $8 for a “single scoop” that barely resembled a scoop and being treated with that kind of attitude is unacceptable. The customer service was disappointing and left a very negative impression.

While on vacation here in March 2024. Our tour guide brought us here and highly recommend their locally made ice cream.
I got the ube single scoop on waffle cone. My husband got the cookie dough single scoop on a classic cone. It was very delicious and I can tell it was homemade.

Authentic flavors and great service!! I personally think the ice cream taste better than Baskins. Kulolo and haupia are my favorites, other great options to choose from and kid friendly flavors too!!!

This place is awesome. You can’t be on Oahu for an extended amount of time and not eventually hit up Dave’s local Hawaiian ice cream.
The service was amazing and there are a ton of local flavors. I got a “Hawaiian mud pie” shake, which is basically just a coffee ice cream with cookies and cream. Had an amazing experience and I’ll definitely be back.
They also give a 10% military discount!

I’ve always considered ice cream as one of the emotional go to foods…when we first walked into the shop the vibrant colors and music selection definitely made me feel good already. Another plus, is the warm greetings from the lady in front and the inspirational life quotes place strategically in the store. They also offer halo halo, Filipino shaved ice dessert, literally translated to ‘mix mix’…it has assorted jellies, fruit, shaved ice, milk, flan and ice cream on top…the ice texture is very smooth here…i left with a smile on my face…

Nice place for a great, staff was friendly and helpful. Ice cream hit the spot, not overly expansive, Hawaiian Mud was great. Parking a bit tight if many cars there. COVID-19 practices in use.
