TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A.
In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

GREAT PLACE TO EAT! We love spicy food but always find ‘spicy’ is suggestive or has 0 flavor on most menus. Dave’s has both. Even extra spicy isn’t for the faint of heart. And I have never tried their spiciest level. Good flavor as well. Even has special sauce for dipping that Is great as well. My daughter also had the fruity pebbles vanilla shake and it was VERY good and great when our mouths were lit up

Love the new location. First visit here and we enjoyed ourselves. We usually drive to San Antonio to visit Dave’s Hot Chicken from Austin every other week. We experience great service from
Meech our cashier. He was very patient, polite, and just hospitable. The extra hot chicken had a very very good spice and kick to it. Some location are different. Extra hot is not hot. But this location did great.

I ordered the Dave’s #4 chicken sandwich and cheese fries. The fries were cooked perfect, crinkle fries with lots of cheese sauce(+ 1.50 to add the cheese) ….
The chicken was cooked well and tasty. I did medium spice and it was good and hot….I imaging the top levels of spice will be crazy hot. The food was good but I was not overly impressed, it ranked below. CAINES in my book. Decent but a bit pricey for what you get. My food was about 14 bux with no drink.

The food on the menu looks appealing; however, my experience with the sauce selection was disappointing. When I asked to sample the “Extreme Hot” and “Reaper” sauces before ordering, I was informed that samples were not allowed and that I would need to purchase an entire plate to try them. As a customer, it is difficult to choose a spice level without knowing the taste or heat level in advance.
Most restaurants, including wing chains, typically allow customers to sample sauces before placing an order. Unfortunately, this policy felt inconvenient and impacted the overall service experience. I recommend that management consider offering small samples so customers can make more informed choices and feel better served.

Review: Dave’s Hot Chicken – Georgetown
Dave’s Hot Chicken recently opened a new location in Georgetown, and we decided to give it a try. We went through the drive-thru around 9 PM, expecting a quick experience, but the wait ended up being about 40 minutes. It seems they’re still working through the initial rush that often comes with a new opening.
The staff, however, were very friendly and professional. Even though it was busy, they handled everything with patience and made sure customers felt taken care of, which helped make the wait a little easier.
We ordered the mini sliders and a tender. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with bold flavor. I went for the “extra hot” spice level, and it hit the spot — a serious kick, but not overwhelming. It’s definitely made for people who enjoy real heat with their food.
Overall, Dave’s Hot Chicken is a welcome addition to Georgetown’s growing food scene. The food is satisfying and flavorful, and the staff add to the positive experience. Just be prepared for a wait, especially during peak hours — even late in the evening. If you’re a fan of spicy chicken, it’s worth the trip
Update: Recently visited and dine in experience was good. Being it a lunch on week day, it was quick and pleasant. Food tasted amazing.

We got to try Dave’s Hot Chicken for lunch today, and we had a great experience! We came for lunch on a Sunday around 11:30, and there was no line inside and no line for the drive thru either. After ordering at the front we found a table, and there was plenty of seating available. It took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. I love that you can customize the exact heat level that you want on your food. It was easy to tell whose dish belonged to who because everything was clearly labeled with each heat level when we picked it up at the counter. All of the staff was extremely helpful and had cheerful attitudes, even introdung themselves by name. We tried out their milkshakes after the meal and those were yummy as well. I do think they need to get some milkshake straws though; my M&M pieces get getting stuck in the straw and I couldn’t drink the shake! Overall it’s a fun restaurant, the meal portions are big and the staff is very friendly!

Decent food and not too different from other chains. Ordered the sliders. Chicken tender and saucy bites. Saucy bites was. Added as promo as in free for order over $20 but still got charged. Spicy bbq saucy bites was disappointing, is not saucy. Sliders and tenders are similar expect for potato bun which is good. Seasoning has that taste of the Nashville hot sauce. Fries and the dipping sauces truly stood out, we loved those.

Was super excited to try Dave’s for the first time. I took my food to go and the drive thru line was extremely long. There’s definitely a lot of hype right now, so if you decide to go around this time, just know you’ll be waiting a while. I waited a little over an hour and a half and I will say the food isn’t exactly worth waiting that long in line for. I’d wait till the hype dies down.
As for the food, it was good, but definitely not the best. Chicken was crunchy and juicy. I liked the hot chicken flavor. Fries were good too. As for the bread, honestly I could do without it. It just felt like Mrs. Bairds out of the bag. My biggest qualm are the prices. It’s pretty ridiculous. I paid nearly $20 for a drink, two tenders, and fries.
Service was polite but I waited at the window for a while. After five minutes, they confirmed my name again. I probably waited another couple minutes after that. I’m sure the kitchen was swamped though.
Is it worth it right now? No. Once the excitement calms down and if the prices drop to something more reasonable, then I’d say it’s worth it. Plus, some of these five star reviews seem a tad suspicious but that’s just me haha. Try at your own expense and time.

Went for my first time by recommendation from my daughter and was impressed. The Reaper is actually pretty spicy. The seasoning is good on the fries, the kale slaw on the sliders was really good, and Dave’s sauce paired well with it all. It is higher price than most fast food, but other places don’t have the flavor or spice that this place does. I had the Reaper slider and the Extra Hot slider. My daughter had the ‘mild’ tenders. We both walked away happy and satisfied.
Friendly staff. I plan to come back.

Been a Dave’s fan for years, was happy to see one closer to home. Usually a great experience, this time just seemed a lil off. We arrived just 10 minutes after opening on a Sunday (11/16/2025) and were the third in line. Our food took just under 20 minutes to get, just a sandwich and a couple tenders. Even a guy from drive through came in to see if could get his food faster. Normally would be fine, but the chicken nor the fries were hot like they had just came out of the fryer. The flavor heat was spot on, but would’ve expected it to be temperature hot, warm at best. That was the biggest disappointment of the meal. Hoping was just an off day, will definitely give a second try at a later date.
