TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I’ve been wanting to try this for years and was slightly disappointed. Service was incredible and food was prepared quickly but I was hoping for something more. I didn’t realize the chicken was more of a dry rub and not a sauce. I tried chicken with no spice, medium, hot, and reaper and all were good but not great. The Hot slider was probably the best combo of flavors; the Reaper was HOT but didn’t have a good flavor. I enjoy spicy foods but wasn’t impressed. That being said, the Reaper was more enjoyable the next day when my mouth wasn’t already salty and hot from other flavors. If I go again, I’ll do the extra hot.

I had an amazing experience at Dave chicken and not only did. I have great food. I also had great customer service from Onur .He guided me through everything that I wanted to know about and he even made an assumption if I wanted to substitute fruity pebbles onto a slushy and also accommodated me and also I was sitting and he walked my food to me. I didn’t even have to come get it. He walked it to me. Great customer service from him. He’s a good guy. I think that guy deserves a raise

I never leave positive reviews because I hold establishments to a high expectation being a certified chef….but I had an AMAZING experience tonight. India was extremely bubbly and welcoming. She was extremely knowledgeable about the options for service and the food came out in immaculate time! Food was fresh…hot and seasoned to expectation. I would definitely recommend!!!

Rudy was so nice and offered suggestions because we’d never been to Dave’s before. But mostly he was so nice, we eat out a lot and rarely experience such good customer service, in general but especially from young people. Haven’t even tried the food yet and already looking forward to coming back!

First time eating at Dave’s and the experience was awesome. Really cool guy working at the front, kind, polite, professional, and super welcoming. The food was awesome, legit didn’t speak until I finished, and the vibe was awesome. Food came out quick, hot, and tasted great. Highly recommend anyone stop here if they’re looking for a good quality bite to eat on the go.

I’ve tried Dave’s Hot Chicken at the Menomonee Falls and Kenosha locations—those were okay, but the Wauwatosa location is excellent.
The sliders are juicy, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The chicken was fresh, hot, and crispy, and the seasoning was spot on. Service was fast and friendly, and the place was clean and well run.
This location definitely stands out compared to the others. I’ll be back.

I had a great experience. I went with my friends for the first time and I will be coming back frequently. Food was gas, service was awesome. The dude running it was really nice, stopped and checked in to make sure our food was good, all around great experience. And whoever was on aux too, the music was a vibe. Would definitely recommend.

Rolled into Dave’s Hot Chicken about 15 minutes before closing—because nothing says “I appreciate you” like showing up at the exact moment the crew is trying to clean up (heavy sarcasm).
The experience still ended up being awesome, and that’s 100% because of Vanti. He greeted me right away, stayed upbeat (even that late), and walked me through the menu like a pro. He was patient, clear, and genuinely helpful, asked the right questions to figure out what I’d like, and made the whole ordering process easy instead of rushed. You could tell he actually cared about getting it right, not just getting me through the line.
And the food? Perfect. Exactly the level of spice I enjoy, and the chicken tenders were delicious—hot, fresh, and seriously satisfying. I’ll be back… just maybe not right before closing next time.

Every time I come here I’m impressed with the managers and workers. But more specifically, the manager Onur is the best. He’s reminded me about the rewards app when I forget. He hooks the order up with huge tenders. And he actually memorized me and my order. I walk in and he asks “same thing?” I respond “same thing” and specify with or without the drink. It’s ALWAYS top notch food. Onur gives better customer service than any fine dining restaurant I’ve ever been to. If he ever left and went to a different Dave’s I’d make the further drive to his store just for the service. Give that man a raise. I absolutely love this location.
