One of the best Daves Hot Chicken! The interior is so fire; they really went all out.
I’ve been to some of the nicest ones in Cali, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, and even Tennessee, but Iowa just recently got this gem in Ankeny, which is always a vibe. The service here was hard-working and cool, making sure I got exactly what I wanted. I hadn’t tried their loaded fries or a shake yet, so I decided to give them a shot here, and they definitely nailed it! They were amazing, packed with so much flavor and premium quality.
The meal was fantastic, and the experience was just as great. Overall, this is a 5-star Dave’s for sure ! While most of them are amazing, this one takes it to another level. One of the best additions has to be the overhead lighting; it really sets the vibe of the entire restaurant. I highly recommend going at night and ordering whatever sounds good because trust me, it’s all delicious. Thank you, Dave’s, one love!

Don’t read any further unless you don’t eat meat. I’m not Vegan or Vegetarian but I like to explore non-meat options every now and then. The “NOT Chicken” slider was the FATTEST, perfectly seasoned, CRISPY cauliflower steak I’ve ever had! It was thick, “meaty”, and flavorful. We came here because we were both in the mood for fried chicken–which was also perfect in every way. The breading was not too heavy, seasonings were well-distributed/proportioned, and the meat was tender and juicy inside/crispy outside. I know, it sounds amazing on it’s own, but after I saw the menu I was intrigued by the “Not Chicken” options and had to try it. So glad I did! The hot seasoning/sauce on the cauliflower “tender” was pretty spicy but a very flavorful heat. I’m honestly so shocked that cauliflower this good came out of a fast-food kitchen!

I would characterize the cuisine here as excellent. I would advise against dining here if you do not appreciate rub seasoning. We visited this establishment during lunchtime, and it was exceptionally busy. We were able to navigate the queue quite efficiently. We successfully secured seating for five individuals. The establishment boasts a well-appointed interior and features pleasant musical selections.

Dave’s Hot Chicken is a great spot for spicy chicken lovers. We tried the medium spice, and it had a perfect balance of heat and flavor. The chicken was well cooked, and the sides went really well with it. One thing I really appreciate is that all items are halal certified, which makes it an easy choice. The staff were friendly, service was quick, and the overall vibe was casual and fun.

We had a family of 6, 4 of which are teenagers. We loved the experience at Dave’s Hot Chicken. Staff was friendly, restaurant was clean and tidy and the food was served fresh and hot, and tasty!

As a strong raising canes supporter, had incredibly high hopes. Chicken is HOT(!!), fast, and fresh. I will be back and probably sooner than I expect. However, the dining area is very cramped especially at the counter. Very few guests eat in, might be worth it to remove a few tables to add space for carry out customers.
