TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A.
In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I recently visited Dave’s Hot Chicken and had an amazing experience! The food was absolutely impressive — full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and lived up to the hype. The spice levels were just right, and every bite was delicious.
A special mention to Cecilia, who was kind, attentive, and had such a pleasant nature. Her friendly service made the experience even better. Definitely a place I’d recommend to anyone who loves great food and excellent service!

We have been wanting to try this place. Well, we tried it. We wouldn’t go back. We ordered on one of the kiosks that greet you at the entrance. Upon checking out, it automatically highlights a 20% tip. You have to be careful of that. I ordered by myself at a machine, so there’s no way I was going to tip. I’m so glad that I didn’t because the little service that was offered (setting our baskets on the counter) wasn’t great. We waited a pretty long time for fast food. All of the 3rd party orders seem to be prioritized. I also paid $3.00 for cheese fries, on 2 meals and got no cheese on either. I had to go back up and ask for my cheese. They gave me 1 cup. I, again, told her it was 2 orders. By then, the cook didn’t look thrilled either. There was never a simple sorry, just handed me the cheese. I felt like I had done something wrong by bothering them. The cherry coke was out of flavor, no way I was going to bother them for that. The food was mid at best. One of the chicken sandwiches had a tendon-like thing all the way through it. We had to tear up the sandwich to get it out. My sandwich had some thick skin that I tore the sandwich up, removing. All in all, the food was not much to return for and the unwelcoming atmosphere will ensure that we don’t return.

This is one of my favorite spots in the Notre Dame area. The chicken is amazing. The service is spectacular and the manager and front desk cashiers are always super polite, friendly and helpful. This is one of the best spots you can go to in the area five stars.

I love their Dave hot chicken NOT chicken mild cauliflower wings. Please do not get rid of these, I absolutely love them.
We also orders the tenders and sliders and my entire family devoured them.
Food is always fresh and delicious.

We really enjoyed the chicken tenders and fries. And whatever “Dave’s sauce” is, I want to put it on everything! Lol
I ordered the “hot” spice level, and my husband got the “no spice.” The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the size of them was very generous. I didn’t even finish my second one. We ordered an extra side of fries, but honestly, we could have done without it. We left with full and happy bellies!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only small complaint, and why there are only 4 stars for atmosphere, is because the house music was LOUD. It was definitely up too high for a calm afternoon setting.
But, I would definitely come back again. Thank you!

I personally don’t like doing bad reviews on food but this is ridiculous!! It’s my 3rd time eating here so I happen to stop by for a late night meal and turns out my chicken is UNCOOKED! Very disappointing ! Keep in mind I ask for the manager and the young lady told me he DOES NOT SPEAK ENGLISH , what type of MANAGEMENT IS This place??????? Hello ?!! ♀️

Even tho they were super busy before a big ND game they were quick and got my order 100% correct. The food was great and so was the service. The bathrooms were even spotless!

First time. Really tasty and juicy chicken. Good portions.

A little deceitful. The sliders are not sliders. They are full-on chicken sandwiches. The reaper spice is a little on the heavy side, same with the hot. If the seasoning was lighter then I think it would have more flavor. Shakes are nothing special, and neither are the fountain drinks. Would we come back? Maybe in the future for the chicken. I recommend the bites for the kids. The tenders are pretty huge. No ranch for the dips. May have to bring your own. You can buy non seasoned for the kids or yourself.

Busy but delicious hot chicken.
I got the slider with fries combo with extra Dave sauce. I went for the hot spice level, which was exactly what I was looking for with a hot chicken sandwich. The spice was balanced out by the slaw and the cheese that I got on the sandwich, the fries were crispy even though I ate them about 15 minutes after leaving, and the Dave sauce tied everything together really really well.
I stopped in during mid-afternoon, almost 4:00. I’m not sure what I was expecting for a crowd but there was a line when I was there and many more came in after me. There was also steady in and out with pickups. Even though they were busy, the service was friendly, and they were getting orders out pretty efficiently and quickly. I only waited about 10 minutes for my food and it was delivered hot and fresh. I had made a mistake when I ordered, saying that I wanted it for dine in, and they quickly were able to package it up to go.
Delicious, excellent service, worth the wait. Going to be coming back often!
