TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Great experience. The Chicken was hot and tasty , the fries were fresh, the pickles and sauce delicious . Took a while to get serviced but they were very busy and had limited help. Very friendly service despite the lunch rush. 10-10

Dave’s hot chicken is a must try if you have never had it. I got hot chicken bites with fries and they were delicious. Perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. The hot seasoning blend hits so uniquely, it’s spicy, and savory and sweet and salty all at the same time. Do yourself a favor if you’re wanting to try a new chicken joint and give it a shot!

I could not order online for some reason. I told them about it, then there was a problem with processing my order in the store after that. The manager intervened, made my whole order free, and then the employee even brought the order out to my car. Top notch service!
Music is annoying, even offensive. But the place is clean, and they welcome you warmly as you enter.
The Dave’s bites were just warm, not hot. I ate them in the car as soon as I got them, so they should have been piping hot. The hot version was not spicy enough either.

Absolutely terrible experience. We went for a late lunch – there were 4 cars ahead of us. It took over 40 mins to order and get our food. Not only that, but the customer service was deplorable. She literally handed us our food and stared at us. No “here’s your food”

I love Dave’s. Here’s my complaint, idk if it’s just this store or what but, don’t go through the drive thru. They don’t send people ahead of their food isn’t ready yet like most places do, they let them just sit and wait at the window. So if you’re in the drive thru, you’re stuck. Your food is ready and getting cold, and you’re just sitting there waiting. I’ve waited 30+ minutes before, just for cold food. I don’t know why they don’t just send people ahead when their big order of food isn’t ready and people behind them have their food waiting getting cold. Management needs to step up and use their head more. This shouldn’t fall on the customer to solve this problem, they should be proactive and prioritize a good customer experience.

We stopped in for the first time today. The gentlemen that took our order was one of the best people in customer service I have ever seen and my husband and I have both worked in some form of customer service for several years in the past. If he is not a manager he should be. He helped us with picking the right spice level, got our girls mini milkshakes, and even yelled out of the drive thru menu to thank us for coming in and to have a good day. The food was amazing too but the customer service made it! Keep up the amazing work.

Ngl I thought the food here was waaaay better than it was gonna be. The cheese for the fries is disgusting, the ranch tastes so off and is crazy expensive, the chicken is mid and nothing here is worth $15. Maybe because I live on the west side where there’s actual good chicken, but I felt I had to give this place 1 star to even out the crazy 5 star reviews…

This is the second time I have been to this Polaris Pkwy location and the second time I have ever been to a Dave’s. It was recommended by a foodie co-worker. Both times I have enjoyed the food very much, but service has been agonizingly slow. This most recent time, it was around 1100 on a Saturday and there were three people in the restaurant and who were waiting for food. No line. I ordered and then waited about twenty minutes for my food which was super aggravating because for the last ten minutes of that wait I could literally see it sitting on the warmer between the kitchen and the registers but no one retrieved it for me. Finally I just went and hovered at the counter and stared at it like a dog stares at food and the girl working the counter eventually went and got it. I waited until the second time I went to Dave’s to leave a review because obviously one bad experience with slow service could be an anomaly. Twice, not so much. Also… Dave’s has written notice posted that they are audio and video recording the restaurant and by coming in you are consenting that they can use your likeness for training purposes… which I’m really not okay with. So to recap: excellent food but subpar service due to wait times, and privacy concerns. Doubtful if I return – certainly not to the Polaris one.

This place has pretty solid fried chicken with a variety of spice level options. The chicken pieces they give you are pretty large and nice white meat. Their fries are seasoned and crispy when fresh. It is a bit more expensive than other fried chicken places as drinks are not included.
