TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Wasn’t bad. Also wasn’t good. Just ok. My order most have been prepared wrong because I got extra hot and it was just salty. Maybe a 1/10 spicy. I don’t understand the two pieces of white bread ha. Fries might have been the best part. Crispy and seasoned.

If salt is the primary flavor on all your food, ya might be a mid food franchise.
I’m sure there were other flavors if you ignored the salt, but ill be darned if you can taste them without a lot of effort.
Also what’s with the CC payment ‘Tip screen’ for a basic to go order? Can we all just agree this isn’t cool and take some sort of stand? I already get a 8.25% tax from simply using money and you want me to put up another 15% 20% ? For simply saying ‘hello’?
Coming from a place that sells a 9 dollar milkshake and $ 2.50 bottle of water? Come on now… the bottle water costs you .02 cents each.. maybe .03?
Also, waiting 10 minutes for some french fries and salty chicken nuggets is crazy. I included a picture BEFORE I got my to go order. Maybe I needed to tip 30% more for ‘fast food’.

My husband and I loved this place , they serviced and experience and everything that you could imagine…. It definitely makes up for the price cause with two people are you are going spend like $30 or more but it’s totally worth it ….

They’re charging a higher price than the price posted, acting all stupid and telling me with an attitude “I don’t know I don’t set the price” when I asked how come the posted price is different than the price being charged. No posted signs about prices being different. As a customer, I expect to pay the price advertised. It’s not about the $0.50 extra it’s about the principle – if I was $0.50 short they wouldn’t let me place the order either. The advertised price should be respected.

Ordered my meal with no pickles or slaw (due to my allergy to pickles). We’re not just talking upset stomach type of allergy— full blown anaphylaxis type allergy. Receipt reflected such and I confirmed when I picked up. The gentleman who helped me was very nice and stated that my order was correct, however I get back to work (as I was on my 30 min lunch break), to open up the food to see that had slaw and pickles. Unfortunately, didn’t have enough time to go back to get it corrected so it was a completed waste. Lesson learned. Also double check.

This location was struggling with the high business demand in the beginning, but it seems they’ve worked it all out. We went on a Saturday evening and only waited in line about 5 minutes and got our food within 10 minutes. The food was perfection. Dave’s has the BEST fried chicken! We always get medium spice, which has great flavor and just enough of a kick to it. We always ask for some extra pickles and sauce. They also have honey packets, which are a great add on to the slider. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Vibes are clean and fun. Food is consistently hot and crispy!

We tried david hot chicken for the first time tonight. They service was great and everything was clean. The only issue we had was when we ordered from the app. My 4 & 7 yr wanted to share the loaded fries w/chicken. If you just select and dont choose a sauce it automatically selects “reaper” which is the hottest sauce they have to offer. Luckily we tried the food first and immediately realized the mistake. the staff was kind enough to remake the order but it is an easy mistake to make. I had half a bite and was in a very tough spot for 15 mins. Lesson to be had: Make sure you select your sauce!

Chicken is good and it can get real hot. Love the pickles and slaw. Good fries. I think the generic Hot has the best flavor. The mild has a bit sweeter taste.

The fries were just as i remembered them from the last time crispy.
Sadly the chicken had a weird after taste that I’ve never had before. Not pleasant at all.I have to be honest.

The wait time is appropriate for a product this good, fresh and tasty for those who love the mild and the heat. As for the price, it’s fair considering the portion sizes. The tenders are large really large and the sliders are generously sized, as well.)

What can I say? I’ve been wanting to try Dave’s Hot Chicken for a long time—and tonight, I finally did. The French fries were nice and crispy. The chicken was juicy and tender, and we would definitely for our family recommend the mild and medium.
What truly made the experience was the customer service.
