TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Great chicken sandwich and sides. Order 1 spice level higher than you think you want bc they’re a bit more mild than you’d expect. Crinkle fries are glorious. Mac and cheese is excellent other chicken chains phone in the Mac and give you microwaved slop. That’s is NOT the case here. Great Wall art and fast service.

I was very pleased with my first experience here. The servers were nice and the chicken was delicious, though I wish there was a bit more distinction between the different spice ️ levels. The portion sizes were pretty big and I was full after the meal. Prices were also reasonable, which is hard to find in this day and age!

This was my first time visiting Dave’s Hot Chicken, and it definitely won’t be my last. I stopped in right before closing, and even though the team was clearly in the middle of cleaning up for the night, I never once felt rushed or unwelcome.
Tifani, Paula and Jackie were incredibly kind and patient. They took the time to walk me through the menu, offered great recommendations, and made sure I felt confident about my order. That level of service, especially at the end of a long shift, really stood out to me.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. You can tell they care about both the quality of the food and the customer experience. Huge thank you to Tifani, Paula and Jackie for turning a late-night stop into such a positive first impression.

The chicken was delicious — crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a perfectly balanced batter. Above all, the staff were friendly and explained everything clearly, which made the experience feel warm and comfortable.

Some of the best food I have had. The tenders, the sandwich, the fries the sauce all so well seasoned, juicy and fresh. The food was actually spicy. Price was amazing for the quality and service was good. Place was clean good air conditioned and good seatings. All and all a must go place with delicious food. Make sure you put the honey!

If you’re looking for an amazing friend chicken sandwich, this ain’t the place – go to Roaming Rooster about 4 mins drive from here. The dry spice rub is mediocre compared to others I’ve bhad in the area. Not visiting this place again. The loaded fries were the saving grace though sans chicken on it.

The flavour is so on point!!!! Juicy, tasty, moist chicken sandwiches. Amazing when you add the dave’s sauce and some honey (on the spicy ones). Though, it is a bit pricey (~$15 for 2 sliders and some fries), definitely worth trying. Bonus points for being halal too.
Downside would be the very bad smell of the restaurant everytime I’ve come here. Don’t know why it doesn’t go away. Service was nice, food came speedily.

The chicken I ordered it mild and it was delicious and the fried super crispy. The slaw needed a little more dressing, it was bland. They need to tone down the music; it was a little loud.
