TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

The food was decent, but it didn’t live up to what we were expecting from Dave’s Hot Chicken. As first timers, the spices felt a bit too overpowering and we were hoping for something more balanced.
That being said, the customer service was outstanding. Everyone was kind, helpful, and made us feel very welcome.
Here are my ratings:

First, customer service is total 10/10! As a first timer coming to Dave’s Hot Chicken, I didn’t know what to expect. The customer service level is next level, I was greeted by “Joyce” who walked me through the menu and gave me some overview of their specials. The chicken has a unique taste that I didn’t like. Without any spices, it was still kind of spicy. The fries were great, and the fountain drink selection is superb. While my rating of one star maybe a harsh choice, the service and atmosphere were outstanding. Please feel free to stop on by and make the decision for yourself. Thanks!

Location is clean, bright and inviting. Staff is friendly, helpful and chill. I got the 18 pc today, never had it. It’s the saucy chicken. Flavors I got were: Mike’s Hot Honey, Spicy Buffalo and Spicy BBQ. The hot honey tasted abysmal, I didn’t like it whatsoever but since it’s part of my total order I covered it in sauce and ate it but I will never go for that again. Either change the recipe (suggestion) or remove it but everything else was tasty. I normally get other menu items but I generally recommend Dave’s

Dave’s Hot Chicken is a must-try. The chicken is incredibly juicy, crispy, and packed with flavor , even at the fiery “Hot” level. Combine that with perfectly seasoned fries and great service for a fantastic meal.

He’s fast, attentive, and makes sure every order is done right, even when it’s busy. You can tell he actually cares about the quality of the food and the customer experience, which is rare. On top of that, he’s super respectful, efficient, and keeps everything running smoothly. Dave’s Hot Chicken is lucky to have someone like Jose G. holding it down.

So first things first when I walked in, I was Greeted with a beautiful smile, and I felt like a guest rather than a customer. Susana also Explained the menu From the different levels of spice and what she would recommend including beverage choices . Being It is my first time she answered any questions I had With patience and excitement. Last but not least the food was amazingly good with a dry heat texture during the first bite to a well done crisp that brought it all together. Definitely felt the love put into my food

Steven was friendly and welcoming, taking time to walk us through the menu and explain the specialties. The chicken sliders and the fries were delicious. Generous portions and great value.
We also loved the atmosphere especially the local murals featuring Leesburg Pike, which gave it a fun community vibe. Everything felt clean, lively, and well put together.
We’ll definitely be back and recommend Dave’s Hot Chicken to our local school for a potential spirit night fundraiser at Glen Forest Elementary.

I had a great experience at Dave’s Hot Chicken! I accidentally ordered a vanilla shake online instead of chocolate, and when I went to pick up my order, I mentioned the mistake. The staff was so kind and accommodating—they switched it to chocolate without any problem. Really appreciated their customer service and friendliness. The food was delicious as always, and the team made the experience even better!
