TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I’ve gone to this location several times and while the food is good, wait times are consistently high, even when it’s not busy. I understand food service is difficult, but today it was particularly bad. Myself and one other person walked in and it was a bit busy, with a few people in line to order and a few groups waiting for their food. We ordered and it was nearly 40 minutes before our food was ready. I could see three people working, and while I don’t blame them since they were likely understaffed, I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon since the whole experience was very frustrating overall.

As per usual, Dave’s strikes again. For me this food has become very ordinary but again it’s very tasty and spicy, as advertised. My sister in law pointed out that Dave’s sauce selection is very limited which could be something to consider but what I did not like today is that the workers gave me way too much sauce. I don’t think it’s sustainable and I hope my review will be seen and they will stop giving people a pound worth of ketchup or honey. They are way more economical with the Dave’s sauce but still I feel like food or condiment wastage should be brought to a minimum. I also tried honey with spicy chicken and my friends swore by this combo but I didn’t find it that appealing. But overall I had a great experience and love that the prices remain affordable. If it’s your first time you gotta stop by Dave’s!

Good food, very busy location. I feel the dining room artwork and the music could be more inviting.
Their reaper is a real reaper that you can’t swallow with a Dr present. Play it safe with Hot or if you are adventures go with the extra hot but the reaper is really too much especially for young pallets.
Please play an easier music on the ears especially for the families. Thank you!

The service there is always great. They attend to everyone very quickly and Ive never waited longer than 7 minutes to get my food. The staff seems to be very professional and kind.
The food there is good. The texture is unique. Plenty of different spice levels for your liking & they are very very generous with the pickles. The fries are probably my favorite thing from them.
If you haven’t yet, I would definitely recommend checking them out.

Had heard positive things about this place so decided to check one out while I was in the area. The place had interesting wall art but other than that it was lacking design and comfort. I was a bit shocked to find the $13 combo meal didn’t include a drink, yes the pieces of chicken were big but overall it wasn’t tremendous amount of food. Fries were basic. The milkshake was good. The workers were nice. The bathroom wasn’t horrendous but I certainly wouldn’t call it clean. It should be noted that seasoning has a south west vibe.

I swear, this place is AMAZING!!!!! Anytime i get the chance to eat out, i go to Dave’s Hot Chicken (don’t worry, i am still healthy). I usually get 1 tender and 1 slider, with a heat level of mild. The only bad thing about this place (which isn’t even that bad) is the spice jump from mild to medium. If medium was less spicy, then that would be my go-to. 10/10 would recommend.

Very good sliders. One order of two with fries was enough for two of us. Heat level (medium) was perfect. We’ve tried Birdie’s and Flip the Bird, and they are very good. Dave’s edges them out on flavor and value.
This place is busy with walk-ins and DoorDash, online orders, etc, so there was about a 10 min wait—-not bad, really.
