Literally the greatest food I’ve ever eaten, ever. Full stop. I’ve been a loyal customer since high school, and through college, living overseas and living out of state, Gold Mine is a must visit whenever I’m in town. If I were about to be executed, my last meal would be: Cajun chicken quesadilla, chips with melted cheddar, lemon chip sauce, and Dave’s pico de gallo. A little guac and sour cream on the side but honestly the pico and lemon chip are more important. The food is SO good that guac is an afterthought. Usually guac is the first thing people consider when having Mexican. My biggest fear is that Dave will retire. I wish he’d write a cookbook. My only “complaint,” if you can call it that, is that it’s primarily a takeout joint, although there are tables and you’re totally welcome to sit there and eat. I’m a sucker for ambience and I’d happily pay top dollar for waitstaff and charm out the wazoo so I can sit there with friends and have a full dining experience. Regardless, none of this changes the fact that it’s the best food in the galaxy.

This is a great place for good food. The owner is friendly and the service is great. The lemon chip salsa alone is worth the visit. My only suggestion is to drain the ground beef on a paper towel when making a taco, especially for take away. Every time I ordered tacos to go, they were a soggy mess by the time I got them home. That is both unacceptable and avoidable. Drain the meat and it’s five stars!

Avoid this place. The food tastes like chemicals, the facility is filthy, and it’s severely understaffed with unfriendly service. Even one star is too many.

Never even ordered. The staff ignored us and continued eating their meal and playing on phones/iPad instead of helping us. Also looked very dirty and was just a turn off.

Can’t even comment on the food (smelt ok.. I’ll give them that) because I walked in, smiled and said hello and I kid you not, the man rolled his eyes at me and walked behind the counter with not a word said back. I was picking up an order for someone else. Shocked me a bit but Then I continued walking to the front and he just stared at me and went “well? Picking up? “ and I said “yes for “blank” and he just rolled his eyes yet again and threw his head back and arms back. He asked for more details as if I didn’t give him the biggest detail of all. I asked if he would like to see me phone So I took out my phone to show him ALL the details. And he said yea but I want to know first if it’s for this app (which is the info that’s on my phone and also the name has will show that info when it’s printed too). He did NOT look at my phone by the way lol. I can not believe or understand why he seemed to have a prejudice or something towards me – I have no idea what was going on….. I’m a lesbian… I look gay….. that’s all I got but I can’t even say that because I never get treated like that. He just REALLY didn’t like me off the bat. I tried to show him my phone that had all the answers on it because I just felt uncomfortable at this point engaging anymore …. He outright refused to look at my phone so he went to go look at his computer meaning he had the info at his fingertips already. I made a few “oooook?” Noises and that was all and then he just at an arms length out the bag down and didn’t say a word. It was the oddest and rudest thing. One of the first experiences like this I have ever had like this which is why I felt compelled to write this. Not a good feeling for a female, gay or not, alone at night . I’m Just trying to work for extra money too Sir. That was wild.

Dave makes the best local Mexican food! I stopped for lunch yesterday and had Al Pastor tacos which were juicy and delicious. Not every taco place makes Al Pastor so I appreciate this so much. Plus he carries Mexican Coca-Cola

This place has been here forever. It has very good food made by a great guy that works hard. The food is made fresh each time, so the taste is excellent. The atmosphere is more like his family home, very welcoming with his kids sometimes hanging out. There could be room issues for larger groups. Better for take-out

Good Food, Fair Prices.
I have never personally had a bad experience here. I come for the burritos every so often, and they are always quite tasty. There is a good balance with the meat, rice, beans, and other accoutrements. They are also accommodating if you want to add anything, and the individuals who run this joint are quite friendly.
