Davenport’s Pizza Palace caught me off guard! It’s really really hard to set yourself apart in the pizza industry and Davenport’s did just that. The pizzas are not a ton of bread with a bit of toppings but a perfectly thick crust with abundant toppings. So much, that we ordered bacon on our pizza and it was almost too much. You might want to be somewhat careful with your toppings so it’s not too over powering. With that said, I want to just keep going back to Davenport’s for the fresh and abundant toppings matched up with that perfect crust. Love this new pizza place! New to us anyway!

Cauliflower meat lovers pizza…yummy! It only comes in one size but was enough for 3 adults. It was hot, fresh, not greasy or heavy. The prices are fair also. I liked the prompt timing of it being ready and the waitress was pleasant. Parking was not easy due to the lunch rush, and the initial entry into the restaurant is dated. But overall an enjoyable pickup experience.

We tried this restaurant right before COVID hit. It hasn’t changed nor has it changed in the past 17 years. This is also based on the remark a customer made sitting next to me. While there is plenty of seating, it is close quarters, so moving around takes caution even in the entryway where only the cashier is safe. The menu is made of wood, which I found very cool. I ordered a 12 Jim Special, but I didn’t realize to request the pizza slices not to be in squares, which is the default. There are video games to entertain the kids. There are 8 draft beers to choose from. It is a classic Mountain Brook restaurant. Parking in front of the restaurant can be tricky when backing out into the street. Just use caution. Great place for family gatherings.

It was 38 degrees out. We had 9 people, but not everyone was there. They wouldn’t seat us until everyone was there. They wouldn’t even let us in the restaurant, not even the 79 year old grandmother with us – remember, 38 degrees out. When everyone was there, they told us a group of 7 had just come in and they were ahead of us. 60 minute wait. We are having a delightful dinner at Sound Hound

This place is phenomenal. I have read articles about it in the past, and have wanted to try it for a long time. It lived up to its reputation. I love Chicago-style thin crust pizza, and I will be back. We had the Rex Pizza, a cheese pizza, and a veggies pizza. Everyone left happy.

We ate here around 3:30 on a Saturday. It was not busy and the food came out quickly. We regretted stopping here after trying the pizza though. I don’t think it’s a good value and we thought the crust tasted like a cracker and the pizza overall reminded us of frozen pizza. The servers were friendly. Old music played and the environment was definitely old school. I don’t think we will be back.

I ordered a cheese and sausage pizza for pick up! Picked it up, got in my car, opened it up, and this is what I get! One piece of sausage per slice of pizza! I took it back, showed management the pizza! They had no empathy whatsoever! The manager said that’s how they come! And waitress said, I’ve been here 13 years and it’s always been like that! No, I’m sorry, how can we fix it or offered nothing to replace it or make me happy as a customer! I had to ask for my money back! Unacceptable!!! If I could give a 0 rating, that’s what it would be! To the owner- I had eaten there several times from 2018-2020! And I know for a fact that the pizzas had more meat on it! That’s why I came back! Look at these pizzas from your restaurant compared to mine! Loaded!!! That’s ok! I won’t be back!

I am a pizza person. I rarely turn down an opportunity to go get a pizza. My favorite part is to go to a restaurant order a pizza fresh and hot and enjoy it with family and friends. Recently we went out with my cousin and his wife to Davenport’s. The place was packed. We got a pepperoni pizza and a sausage pizza, both thin crust cut up in random rectangles. The pizzas sat on elevated warmers about 8″ above the table. The waitress was always promptly at taking care of our drinks and other needs. We left stuffed and there was plenty leftover. P.S. I was so hungry one picture was all I took. Sorry, friends.

Amazing pizza hands down! I usually become thirsty after having cheese pizza in other places, because everything is very salty, but not this time! Premium cheese and other toppings. Definitely recommend visiting there.
