When we asked if we could simply add a chair to the end of one table so our family could sit together, we were told it was a “fire hazard.” However, the table right next to us had a high chair placed in that exact same spot. So apparently it’s only a hazard when a regular chair is there? The explanation made absolutely no sense.
The service didn’t improve once we were seated. Not a SINGLE plate was cleared from our table, from apps to desserts, the entire time we were there, so dishes just piled up. We also had to practically hunt someone down anytime we needed drink refills. I should mention that MANY servers and managers walked by and look at their table and did not care to clean or refill.
Overall the experience felt disorganized and poorly managed. A simple seating request for a family, AT A FAMILY RESTAURANT, should not be this difficult, and basic table service like clearing plates and refilling drinks shouldn’t be something customers have to chase down.
Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing from start to finish.
The arcade has a huge variety of games — from classic favorites to the newest interactive experiences — and the prize section makes it even more exciting. The food was surprisingly good for an entertainment venue, and the drinks were well-made. Staff was friendly and kept everything running smoothly.
Overall, Dave & Buster’s is a great place to eat, play, and just have a good time. Definitely worth the visit!
The place was more than half empty when we walked in, but our party of five was seated at a table meant for ten. Not a big deal, but it set the tone for the rest of the visit. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes and not a single server came to our table. Meanwhile, staff were actively serving the tables directly to the left and right of us and completely ignoring ours.
After about 20 minutes I had to flag down a random staff member just to get someone to take our order. They ended up taking everything at once, including drinks, because at 25 minutes in we still hadn’t even gotten water. Drinks finally showed up about 10 minutes later.
Then the food situation got even worse. The kids’ meals came out first, but the adults had to wait another 15 minutes for their food. At that point we were already over it. My husband and the kids got up to go play games because we were approaching an hour and twenty minutes just sitting there waiting for basic items: two kids pizzas, a cheese quesadilla, a flatbread, and barbecue chicken.
While I sat there alone waiting for the check, I watched the hostess seat another party of five at a table for four. One of the teenagers had to get up and find a chair from another table just so they could all sit together. The family pointed out several empty tables and booths nearby that could easily fit them, but the hostess refused to move them. With more than half the restaurant empty, forcing two adults and three teenagers to squeeze into a four-top is absolutely ridiculous.
To top it all off, no one apologized for the wait, and nothing was offered to make up for the terrible service. If the restaurant was packed, I might understand some delays. But when half the place is empty and staff are hanging around by the kitchen chatting instead of helping guests, that’s a management problem.
We will not be back.
Order
Grilled BBQ chicken with sweet potato fries and side of fried shrimp. Chicken was room temperature, overcooked and dry. The sweet potato fries were also room temperature. Asked for another batch and those were the same as the other. The fried shrimp was hot as if it was freshly cooked
BBQ wings well done and fries. Wings too were room temperature and not well done. They were sloppily coated with parts of the chicken not coated at all. Fries were cold. Asked for a new batch, the new batch were cold also.
BBQ bacon burger and fries. My son enjoyed the sandwich but same song about the fries
Salmon and rice. Wife was satisfied with her meal
The waiter was attentive to the best he could be working multiple tables. He greeted us shortly after we arrived. He communicated he would take care of us for the bill for the cold food. But didn’t happen. I still tipped him as he was attentive.
It appears to get fresh food you need to order something that’s not readily available. I’m not sure what happened but it shouldn’t have taken that long to get food.
We arrived as a party of five adults and a toddler and were told it was open seating. Great! Love that. Except apparently “open seating” actually means “sit wherever you can physically wedge your body.” Despite the fact that there were tables for six everywhere, we were somehow denied access to all of them. Twice we asked. Twice we were politely told… no.
So naturally we adopted a rotational seating system, where people took turns sitting down like we were competing in some kind of Olympic musical chairs event. Very relaxing dinner vibe.
At one point we asked if we could simply add a chair to the end of the table.
Answer: absolutely not. Against the rules.
Two minutes later the table next to us rolls up with a highchair parked right at the end of their table like it’s VIP parking. So apparently chairs are illegal… unless they’re very small and come with a toddler already installed.
Meanwhile, the already-too-small table began accumulating dishes like it was an archaeological dig site. Not a single plate was cleared the entire time. Honestly, thank goodness for that — because our drinks were never refilled, so at least we could sip on the slowly melting ice cubes for hydration.
Then came the $31.99 appetizer platter, which appears to be Dave & Buster’s interpretation of the famous $14.99 Triple Dipper from Chili’s Grill & Bar — except here it costs twice as much and arrives with the emotional energy of regret.
My son-in-law ordered a rare steak, which arrived looking like The Dark Knight in full costume. But honestly that’s on him. Expecting a 16-year-old line cook in an arcade restaurant to nail steak temperatures is the kind of optimism I wish I still had in life.
Two managers passed our table repeatedly during the evening. On more than one occasion I made direct eye contact and attempted Jedi mind tricks, silently begging for things like:
• an extra fork
• a chair so someone could actually sit down
• literally any beverage refill
But apparently the Force was not with me.
The final straw came when we went to get dessert and discovered the Dippin’ Dots machine was broken. My grandson immediately went full Hulk mode, launching into a meltdown so powerful he nearly took out his 6’4” father in what can only be described as an anti-dot rage event.
When we finally paid the bill, my husband was told our waitress had a 20-top table, which explained the lack of service.
And all I could think was:
“Where exactly did the other 16 people sit? Because apparently not at any of the empty tables for six.”
⭐ 1 out of 5 stars
Would recommend if you enjoy standing dinners, melted ice water, and emotional support appetizers.
The food was good. The french fries were the bomb and I was very impressed with the way it was served. It was on platters and I thought that was really unique.
If you do plan an event there, maybe plan your schedule to eat and have cake before going to play games as your time at the table is short.
