The package deal had to be purchased in the dining room with our server during our meal, so not sure if you can play before you eat, which was our original plan, but everyone was hungry when we arrived, so we ended up eating first.
My son said his D&B hamburger was bland and boring; he wasn’t impressed. My ribs were great. No one else in the party commented about their food one way or the other. They had a variety of drinks at the bar. Another warning – if you select the auto tipping percentages on their checkout device, the tip amount includes the play part of your pass, not just the food.
I asked the waitress if the tip was just for the food, and she confirmed the food was separate from the play pass, so the tip should only include the food. However, a quick calculation discovered it was not separate. So, instead of being charged a tip for just say a $20 hamburger and fries (have to guess as there are no prices on the menu), it charges the tip on the entire eat & play amount of $60. When I informed her, she asked if I wanted an itemized statement, but I told her I’d pay a tip based on $20 per person (everyone had the cheaper menu items except me – I upgraded to ribs), including one who didn’t eat or play since they were taking space and air, plus beverages and a little more for good measure. I really did not want to short tip her; she was very nice.
Our passes were only good for a max of 1500 prize tickets, which all of us managed to collect. I thought we could combine them and let the birthday boy get a special prize, but they won’t let you “stack” them and everyone agreed the prizes for 1500 and less tix were lame, so no one redeemed their tickets. It was no big deal. Overall, we had a lot of fun and would do it again. $60 for food and an hour and a half of games – totally worth it.
I know how important these surveys are so I left 5 stars, but I believe the staff needs a bit more training in offering products and services to customers.
I’ve noticed that Dave & Buster’s has been growing so fast across the Northwest, and I finally got the chance to visit the Happy Valley location.
To be honest, it is quite a drive from Portland to Happy Valley so I was initially hestitate to go that far. But the experience was definitely worth it! Much more than I thought!
The variety of games available in Happy Valley location is outstanding and kept me and my friends entertained during our time there.
In my opinion, this Happy Valley location is the best one I have visited so far. It is much bigger than other locations I have been to, thus, there are many more games to enjoy.
The staff here are super friendly, and the food was also good. If you are a big gamer, I recommend taking advantage of their promotions to get more credits so you can play more games. They always seem to offer some sort of promotions to make us spend more money. I personally didn’t mind spending a bit more for more playtime.
