Update: 5/1/24 Things are now consistently a hit or a miss at this Davannis, which isn’t consistent at all. I used to order AT LEAST once a week because they are 2 miles away from my house and I used to have good experiences every time, so I dont know if they hired a bunch of new people all of a sudden at once but it is now a roll of the dice that the pizza will show up alright or there will be something seriously wrong with your pizza. Pictured at the way bottom is how my pizza showed up with the cheese slid off. I’m not sure if I will order ever again because if I do it will be like me rolling the dice for a 50/50 chance my order won’t be messed up LITTERALLY.
Update: (2/4/24) Things got better after the last email but tonight Feb 4 I had a very mangled pizza (pictured 4th to last) show up from the Brooklyn Center MN location around 530pm because someone tried to cut in triangles and then saw then too late realized it was supposed to be cut in squares but sent it anyways instead of remaking plus the delivery driver Dylan for some reason didn’t understand the concept of no contact delivery. I got bothered when I was finishing up a project with MANY phone calls (at least 4!!) because they wanted to hand it off and he just sat in his car letting my pizza get cold instead of just dropping it off and I was waiting for him to do just that and leave, then I was going to come out. Usually the delivery driver just rings the door bell and I know when to get it AFTER they leave (as clearly instructed and the pizza turned out to be very much luke warm just because of this drivers actions) and then he had the audacity to tell me “Just so you know, I need to see it handed to you” I choose contact free for personal reasons, please don’t have it as an option if the delivery drivers don’t understand it or stick to it and I won’t be able to use this place if its not an option. Not everyone wants to be in contact with people for health or personal reasons and should be respected. I am pregnant and I am at home. I want less contact during flu season. May order less or not at all because this is getting ridiculous….

I ordered the lasagna, had lunch with some work buds. They got “The traditional” hoagie, both liked and said it brought back memories from days past. I had the lasagna and it did not hit. Noodles were very mushy for me. I wanted to like it so bad , as Divanni’s is an institution to casual fast food here in Minneapolis. But I could not recommend, had noodles been al-dente. My tune woulda changed. I love that Divanni’s was there when my kids grew up and it was our place. But maybe as I age I’m expecting more.

The staff here is friendly and this Davanni’s has always served consistently good food to where I have no problem returning for another good lunch. This location is on my monthly rotation of go-to sit down restaurants and you can guarantee that I will return.

MY HOGEY WAS HORRIBLE..IT WAS SOGGY. (USUALLY THE FOOD IS ON POINT) I GOT A FOOTLONG AND I COULD ONLY EAT A QUARTER OF IT. I BROUGHT THE REMAINING HALF OF MY FOOTLONG WITH RECEIPT .I EXPLAINED I COULD ONLY EAT A QUARTER OF THE FOOTLONG. THEY REPLACED IT BUT ONLY A SIX INCH. OBVIOUSLY I TOOK THE TIME TO DRIVE BACK AND LET THEM KNOW I WAS NOT ABLE TO EAT MY SANDWUCH. I SPENT 50 DOLLARS ON THE ORDER. SO ITS NOT LIKE I WAS TRYING TO GET A FREE SANDWICH. THEY SHOULD HAVE REPLACED MY WHOLE SANDWICH..

This is probably my favorite pizza place. The pizza is great, and they have a few local beers on tap. Plus they have a nice allergen brochure and have very minimal use of tree nuts in their foods (only one item) so that’s a big bonus for me personally.

Davanni’s is super yummy! I love pizza & subs & this place is really good. I had a calzone & my friend had a sub. The calzone was really good – toasted to perfection. The ingredients tasted great and the sub toppings were very fresh. They have one of those multi-soda Coke machines so you have plenty of drink options. The atmosphere is very friendly. You order at the counter, they give you a buzzer, and then you go get your food (no servers). I will definitely be back.
