Nice hole in the wall for a classic comfort meal. I don’t have a high spice tolerance so the food came out perfect. The tandoori items came out moist and juicy and the butter chicken wasn’t too oily. Service was exceptional, our waitress, Nupur, was really attentive.

I ordered takeout here and it was absolutely delicious. I got the butter chicken, saag paneer, vegetable samosa, and the lamb shahi korma. The food was out of this world, completely fresh. The lamb melted in your mouth. The saag paneer had freshly chopped herbs. If the food was this good as take out, I can’t imagine how good it would be as dine in. I can’t wait to come back!

Glad to finally have an Indian restaurant in the neighborhood! We ordered the salmon tikka and chicken balti, both of which were perfectly tender and well seasoned. Our server Mimi was very friendly and treated us to a complimentary dessert of gulab jamun. I’ll definitely be back, and I wish the owners lots of success!

Mimi was so lovely and friendly the second you walk in the door! The food was SOOOO good!!
We had the lamb briyani, chicken tikka, cheese and spinach naan and saag paneer—classics and all done perfectly. what i loved is that i didn’t feel that overstuffed feeling when you eat indian sometimes.
the ambiance and music were nice and comfortable— about 4 other guests on a monday night was a perfect vibe on a cold winter night. No reservation.

We’ve now eaten at Dastaan twice, and both meals have been terrific! The room is welcoming, the service competent and friendly (Mimi is delightful), and the food is unfailingly delicious. Their tandoori chicken is moist and flavorful (unlike the dried out version in so many places). Other dishes are fresh and flavorful–and they offer a choice of spice level where possible.
