Traditional Ethiopian fare such as hearty stews & injera bread, are served in a relaxed setting.

The food was really good. Just fyi there is a $10 plate share (if you want to split an entree with someone) which I know very few restaurants do but I wish it wasn’t done here especially since Ethiopian cuisine is not ubiquitous so some people are trying for the first time, like me and may not be comfortable having an entire meal and would rather share. But I won’t take away stars for this since they likely have a business-wise reason. Besides that, the food was really good glad I got a chance to try.

Best Ethiopian restaurant!! Food is always delicious, service is great. Highly recommend. Menu could be overwhelming if not use to Ethiopian food, but the staff will help you based on your likes. Everyone we ever took here loved it.

I ordered the veggie combo for 2; the food was good. I was not a fan of the plating. Instead of each item placed on the plate twice (one for each person) it was 1 large serving of each item.
The honey wine is served in a traditional berele which I liked, but I did not like the wine at all. Tasted house-made and under fermented. I recommend if you’re into liquid sugar.
They played Spanish music in the Ethiopian restaurant
The waitress either checked too frequently or barely, no in between.
This is the worst ethiopian spot I’ve ever been to, but it’s decent for take-out/uber eats.
Ideas for improvement:
Better plating
Actual East African staff
Training wait-staff to be appropriately attentive (do they have clean napkins?)
Giving wet-wipes with the check (customary with finger-food dining)
Play Ethiopian music.

Have gone for a variety of events: catching up with friends, family, dates, and take out. Ethiopian food is simply delicious and Dashen always gets it right. Vegans and vegetarians can definitely eat here comfortably. I have gone here since 2020 and they were more affordable then. There is a fee to share plates which I believe is a newer practice for them. Not a fan of it.

Absolutely wonderful! This was our first time experiencing Ethiopian food, and we all loved it! We ordered the entrée that serves 4 people, which were 9 vegetarian dishes for a reasonable price. We had asked the waitress and she gave us great suggestions and we loved everything! We will definitely be going there often!

When I say this is *the best* Ethiopian food in a while, I’m not exaggerating. The lamb and the CABBAGE AND POTATOES, and the beef is just so insanely good. The seasoning is amazing and the injera is great.
Only downside is the service – take out is best if you want to just enjoy your food and not deal with the slower service and $10 share fee.
I grew up eating Ethiopian food and this is some of the most well prepared, seasoned, and delicious food I’ve had in a while. Thank you so much for bringing great Ethiopian food to our community, I will always make time to stop by when I’m in town.

Had Doro Alicha, Injera and 2 vegetable sides from Dashen and it was absolutely delectable.
Wanted to eat more but they were almost at the verge of closing for the day!

I’ve never had a bad meal here. Always amazing food, great vegetarian options! The lunch specials are always perfect as well!
However, service is slow. I’m always forced to go get the waitress as they’re either disappeared or on their phones/laptops.
But that doesn’t diminish the quality of the food.

Overall a solid experience. Staff is extremely friendly and the decor is nice. One can dine indoors or outdoors.
The food is decent to above average with the vegetarian dishes being better than the meat dishes. I felt the meat dishes were a little too oily. I would say that the top spots in Harlem and in DC are better… but this place will fix up any Ethiopian food cravings that you have.
We tried the sampler dish that had a choice of 5 meat based dishes and 5 vegetarian dishes.
I would go back for another meal.
