For over 100 years, the Bevo Mill has been a world-famous* landmark in the heart of South City, most obviously known for its defining feature: a 60-foot tall windmill. Originally built by the Busch family as a rest stop between the storied Anheuser-Busch brewery and what is now known as Grant’s Farm, Das Bevo has been entertaining the area’s most interesting and over-the-top characters and their friends and family for decades. Today, after being reimagined and rehabilitated to it’s former glory, Das Bevo is once again bustling–this time as a public and private event space and Biergarten – with all of its original quirky charm still intact.
Wednesday through Sunday meals served in a historic windmill that has a Biergarten.

Food and service are always great! It’s hard to beat the Wednesday $10 Dinner specials, Cozy Fireplace, the Live Music, and the inviting Biergarten. Nahomi serves a great Cocktail, and we may get a beer flight option going soon thanks to a suggestion

I love the ambiance here. I love the building, the fireplace, the bar, the location. I want to love the food but I don’t. It is expensive and mediocre. This is my second time ordering food and being disappointed. Who deep fries potato cakes? Not my Momma, but Das Bevo does. These are fried hockey pucks, not potato pancakes. Every single food item I have ever ordered from here has been mediocre.
That said, the Santa experience is top notch. Location is beautiful and I may make this my yearly visit to Das Bevo because the Christmas pictures are really worth it. I will try ordering something different next time and I will expect it to be mediocre.
I wish they would hire a chef to create a menu worth the prices, the ambiance and the history of this location.

Amazing restaurant! Definitely, 5+ stars! Menu options were perfect for the German theme. Food was really good. Atmosphere was unbelievable!!! The remodel is so fresh and still true to German roots. Highly recommend this place for a unique restaurant!

Excellent experience, here in Das Bevo’s Biergarten, on a Saturday night before Labor Day! Ordered a Berry Mint Bramble & Sticky (Buffalo) wings. So Delicious! Tonight’s band, Robbie & His Rockin’ Fools, provided the right musical atmosphere! I love this place. I’ll come back for sure!

Ate here for a rehearsal dinner for a wedding that was also at bevo mill! The wedding was amazing, for the dinner at Das bevo there was a bit longer of a wait. It sounds like they were having problems with their transaction service and it took 30+ minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. But it was a Friday evening and a lot of other customers were also around so I get it being packed. I ordered the mushroom spaetzle and it was quite tasty and filling. Really the bevo mill is a must try and quite a historic place in STL to visit

So glad that someone bought this place about a decade ago and restored it . Very beautiful looking on the outside and the inside. I attended an event here it is a great place to host an event at. The staff is very friendly and professional. Food tasted good and was delivered quickly.

Love this place! Very cool architecture. Great atmosphere –cozy and relaxed. Tried a few of the appetizers and they were excellent (herbed feta dip, beer cheese fries). Live music was great. What a fun, unique alternative to a generic bar.

The atmosphere is fun, the windmill is cool! I love the outside seating despite it being right on the road. There was live music and it wasn’t too crowded. The drinks were decent and we got the German charcuterie type board with mashed potatoes bratwurst and more.
