Soul Delicious is a recently opened gem that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with beautifully decorated interiors. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with a friendly and welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home.

The food is truly the star of the experience. We enjoyed a hearty meal featuring baked chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans, crispy fried fish with cornbread and beans, and flavorful liver and onions with mashed potatoes, cornbread and green beans. Each dish was well-seasoned and comforting, reminiscent of homemade soul food.

One of the standout features of the restaurant is its spacious outdoor wrap-around balcony, which provides a lovely dining option, especially on a pleasant day. However, while the ambiance and food were excellent, the service could use some improvement. Attention to detail was lacking in certain areas, and during peak hours—especially Sundays—it can get quite busy, which may lead to longer wait times.

Overall, Soul Delicious is a promising new addition to the dining scene, offering great food in a cozy setting. With some fine-tuning in service, it has the potential to become a go-to spot for soul food lovers.

While attending an event in Leesburg Florida on February 15th, a group of us decided to have lunch at this restaurant. When we mentioned it to some other people, they suggested we try another establishment. Well, we were glad we went with Soul Delicious! The food, service, and atmosphere were the perfect setting for us! We all got to taste test the Turkey Necks which were the bomb! I would highly recommend this restaurant as a favorite! Outstanding job to the owner and staff! Keep up the great work! KUDOS!

I’ve visited Darrell Kelley’s Soul Delicious in Leesburg, FL twice now, and while I really wanted to give this new spot a chance, my experiences were disappointing.

During my first visit, I found that nearly 60% of the menu was unavailable, which was frustrating. To make matters worse, I was accidentally served someone else’s order, and the turkey wings I received were overly salty, with rice that was undercooked and cold. I understand that new places might have a few hiccups, so I decided to return for a second try.

Unfortunately, the second visit only reinforced my concerns. The menu had shrunk down to just four items, and even the basics seemed off. The Coca-Cola tasted watered down, and the meatloaf was dense and smothered in a syrupy sauce that tasted more like sugar than anything savory. The cornbread was so hard it could have been a weapon, though it was replaced with a fresh batch that was much better. To top it off, my food arrived in under four minutes, and it was clear the temperature wasn’t being properly maintained—it was lukewarm at best.

I did appreciate the young food runner, who was polite and helpful, but I was introduced to owner and OMG. He came across as incredibly full of himself, almost to the point of being obnoxious. In contrast, the managers I met during my first visit were kind, apologetic, and genuinely seemed invested in making things work. It was hard to take the owner seriously when he mentioned he was a “restaurant flipper,” just opening places to sell them quickly.

As an Afro Latino chef, I always try to support local businesses, but there’s a lot of room for improvement here. The decor felt more like an ego boost for the owner—almost like a shrine to his own musical career, complete with a faint mildew smell. The food had that grandmother’s kitchen vibe, but it was like the grandmother had lost her sense of taste, with everything being overly salty or sweet with no balance. For the portion sizes and quality, the prices felt steep, and it left me feeling like this place needs more than just working out the kinks. It needs a serious overhaul in terms of food quality, service, and overall approach.

Sadly, I won’t be returning!

I went in today shortly after opening with my 1 year old and it was amazing experience from the very start. I was spotted in the parking lot carrying her and they quickly came to open the door for me. I was greeted with smiles and warm welcomes. They even put on cartoons for my daughter so she could be entertained. Service was very quick and pleasant. I sat, ordered and got my food all within about 10 minutes. The food was hot and delicious. I ordered the baked chicken with greens and mac n cheese and WOW everything was great. The chicken was tender and moist, perfectly seasoned. The mac and cheese was so rich and cheesy (this was the main reason for my visit today, i’ve been CRAVING BAKED MACARONI & they exceeded my expectations) and the greens were amazing! I will definitely be going back and telling everyone about how wonderful this place was. It’s family owned and you can really tell by the service they provide.

Terrible quality of food. Fried chicken was definitely overcooked, hard and dry. It took over 30 minutes to get the order. No Coke Cola available. The tea had a slight foul smell and tasted horribly bad. Was given a glass of a fresh batch of tea that wasn’t cloudy and it tasted better. Asked for butter & was given 2 melted plastic containers with an oily, foul smelling odor. Meatloaf was overly saturated with a nasty tasting sauce. Collard greens had no ham hocks as advertised and came directly from a can. No toilet paper in the bathroom stall. The walls serve as a shrine to the owner. Owner has huge ego and talked non-stop about his musical success. Service was horrible. Charged $4 for water. Employees are either in the office, kitchen or backroom. Those in the dining area were constantly on personal phone calls. Several individuals came in to get pick up orders and had to wait over 20 minutes. Witnessed one customer return to get missing items from his order. Will NEVER return. R-U-N R-U-N is my advice.

No joke! This restaurant is truly amazing! It’s my 3rd time eating here and I will be back many times. Can we talk about the Collard Greens and the Candied Yams?!?!?!?! Absolutely delicious. The best part is saving the corn bread and dipping it into the left over collard greens juice! It’ll make you want to slap somebody! The server Joyce goes above and beyond.

The service and food were definitely greater than five STARS !!! The pictures don’t do this food justice. It’s a must try to experience how flavorful it is. I lived in the dirty south 27 years and had my fair share of traditional southern soul food and this place is right there with Georgia!! If you’re like me and like SWEET TEA.. there’s doesn’t disappoint!!

I decided not to cook for Thanksgiving & felt like being served with some soul food. Well let’s just say God led me to the right place. Not only was the food full of flavor & delicious but the hospitality & customer service was unmatched. My server kept checking on me & i was greeted by the manager & spoke with the owner. The atmosphere was full of love & I got to sing my lil heart out with karaoke lol. Yes there were some minor mishaps but I would expect that with any new establishment. I look forward to seeing what all God has in store for this place.

Nice place, Fantastic food! It takes a minute to get your food but i believe that’s because they cook, at least the meat portion of your order, fresh. I had fried pork chops, rice & gravy, collard greens & homemade mac n cheese, with a croissant! They were out of cornbread. So they gave us croissants, which was very good as well. I ordered the dinner portion, which was $20, but i got enough for two meals! Can’t wait to go back for the fried chicken!
