Review: Had been recommend to try Darra takeaway from a few avid Banh Mi lovers so thought I would make the journey to give them a go. I went with the roast pork and salad roll which was only $6. The baguette was fresh and soft with a crispy exterior and filled with a good amount of pork and fresh veggies. I thought this was one of the best pork belly rolls I’ve tried as it had a good amount of meat with hardly any fat and the perfect crispy crackling. There was also a good amount of coriander (which I love), pate and mayonnaise. I didn’t try the meatballs but was told they were a decent size with good flavour. However, there could have been some cucumber/ other veggies to go with the carrot. For the price point, this is a fantastic Banh Mi spot and I would definitely travel to get the roast pork. To note, they only accept cash.

About a year ago use to go here once a month always fresh. Pork gravy roll was so good went there today I’m shocked at what I received. Did the owners change? I had a soggy overcooked below average pork gravy roll and I bought 5. All bread rolls were soggy and pork overcooked, so disappointing the pork roll 2 stores down is better now.

The women working there have known me for over 15 years. I walked down the side to select a drink and saw massive steamers, bigger than I have ever seen. I asked the boss man if they are steamers. Things went upside-down and he cursed me with bad language and words. I walked away thinking what I have done wrong. They don’t accept EFTPOS. Several neighbours have set up next door and are getting all the non cash customers. Time to stop hiding it under the mattress and get an EFTPOS machine.

The best banh mi I’ve ever had all across Australia. I’ve had banh mis in all the other states. But nothing really compares to this one.
For the price that you get you get an amazing amount of quality and quantity. The freshness of the bread and ingredients really shines through.
And the flavour just keeps wanting you to come back for more and more. Will always recommend this to anyone I see. And love coming here.
