They have the best homemade Salisbury Steak I have ever eaten. Their open-faced Roast Beef Manhattan is also awesome. The waiters work very hard here and the service is great. Had the country fried steak special today and it was delicious. It is really easy to find using Google Maps. Plenty of free parking.

I have been a loyal customer for years. I discovered the best day for my family and I was to come on Sunday when Denice worked. She always had a smile, anticipated what you wanted before you did and made sure my guests were welcomed and catered to. I’d get a watermelon in the summer, a pumpkin in the fall and all the other waitresses never came close. Her mom was I’ll and no one has said why she left but it’s a true disappointment without her. She knew how to treat the elderly and the kids.

Been dropping in here for decades now, almost home away from home. Good tavern food, dive bar atmosphere, great place to sit and talk with friends. Bartender and staff always friendly.

Good for all occasions…Sunday brunch, Saturday afternoon beer, dinner…our Christmas parties for work are here too (they always decorate for Christmas).

Step away from your regular chain restaurant and step into the ‘ol Darmstadt Inn.

Met my family there on Christmas Eve. Called 2 times to make SURE they were going to be staffed, open and had Brain Sandwiches available. Upon arrival and ordering I was told “sorry, no brains today”. Explained that we had called 2 times and I drove from Indianapolis and were assured that brains would be on the menu. After going back to the kitchen and asking the cook they were agreed to make my brain sandwich.

Well, the brain was awful. Everyone else also stated that the food was either over cooked and dry or not good. Years ago (30 or more) I would go there for food and it was excellent. Not the same today. Sorry for the bad review but…it is accurate.

First the food, I had the fried chicken and German fries an both were good. The server was a little slow to get to our table but after that she did a good job. It is a rustic place but the noise level seemed very high when the place was only about a quarter full. I guess the booze was getting to some where they spoke louder. I prefer less noisy places myself. Overall, it was okay but could have been better.
