A fixture on the Beach Road in Kill Devil Hills since 1987, Dare Devil’s Pizzeria is an Outer Banks favorite for delicious pizzas, stromboli, subs, salads and appetizers. The quality of the food plus the friendly staff are just a couple of the reasons this is the longest-running pizza restaurant on the beach. If you know Dare Devil’s, you’ll notice a slight change this year as the restaurant has switched to a counter-service model instead of having servers come to your table. It’s the same delicious food, but you’ll order it at the counter and seat yourself in the dining room or at the bar. They’ll still serve beer, wine and spirits, and large parties will still be welcomed. Lunch and dinner every day during season.

The pizza was good. The flavor and consistency of the sauce told me it was made from scratch but the crust was a little “bouncy”. It could have been cooked another minute and that might have been good.
Parking is easy in the dedicated lot. There were people sitting at tables on this rainy September night but we carried out.
The young woman who took our payment and then handed us the food was a little gruff- small talk is not her thing perhaps.

Great spot right near the beach. Prices are reasonable. It’s quite near where I’m staying at the beach and it’s been hopping every evening. We decided to go around 4 pm when it wouldn’t be busy to check it out. So here’s the DL on what we are: wings were large, large stromboli was way more than enough to feed 2 people, and the Crazy Greek Pizza had the perfect thickness of crust and blend of cheeses on it to ensure the feta wasn’t overwhelming. Wholeheartedly would recommend and the price to food ratio is one of the best I’ve seen while on vacation.

Awesome pizza. We just moved to the area for a job and have been trying out various pizza shops….with no success and then we saw this shop one night driving on beach road so we have it a shot. Fantastic! Super friendly staff. The Greek Pizza was a home run. We had the buffalo chicken pizza and they knocked that one out of the park as well.
Definitely worth trying them out when you are in the area. We’ll definitely be repeat customers!

Went to this pizzeria for dinner with my husband and had a great experience. The place is super clean and organized. I loved how easy the ordering process is, and how you can grab a box for your leftover pizza. The staff was really friendly and welcoming, even though the restaurant was packed. Highly recommend!

Large pepperoni and mushroom. Canned mushrooms and chewy frozen pizza dough. Not my thing. Eastern European girl working the counter not very friendly, must be her thing. Was not busy, no one eating inside. Cozy atmosphere though.

Last time we were here was 7 years ago and the service has since changed. You order at the counter after reviewing the menu at the table you choose to sit at. They will give you your drink in either a bottle or can. You have to get your own paper plates, plastic ware, straw, napkins, etc. The food came out in a timely manner and it was delicious! You clean off the table when done and place any pizza pans or stands in their designated place by the trash. Honestly, it’s not bad. Things have changed for many businesses since COVID and Dare Devil’s Pizzeria did what works best for them. It wasn’t a bother at all to do what I could to help their business succeed. I hope it doesn’t take another 7 years to visit again 🙂

Delicious pizza and perfect crusty crust. Not too thick, not too thin. We had the North Shore and the Crazy Greek pizzas with the Zorba Greek salad. Homemade sweet and unsweet tea available, as well as sodas and beer. Very laid back. Order at counter, dine in or carry out.

I had a pizza and a salad and sat at the bar. On the positive side the service was very good as was the pizza. Very good crust and baked at a high temp. Toppings were good. They have a couple of decent beers but unfortunately not on tap.
They lose a star for the crazy amount of disposable plastic they use. Salad served in a disposable clam shell container, plastic cups, plastic utensils. Plastic everywhere.

Pizza is great and atmosphere is nice. Having been here a few times you have to be ready for how they operate. You seat yourself, look over the menu and go order at the counter when done. The staff is really super nice and helpful. It just operates a little different than other pizza places.
