TIKKA look at this awesome end of summer celebration at Darbar in Branford with Connecticut Yelp Elite! As an avid traveler and adventurous eater, I really enjoy experiencing food fusions that combine different cultures foods together into something new and delicious. This was Edward’s first Yelp event as a new Yelp Elite member and it was a wonderful showcase of what it’s like to be a part of the Yelp community. So lovely to get to meet Sabrina, Sara, and Rob – cheers to making new foodie friends!

This was the first place I saw a “Authentic Indian Style Paneer Tikka Masala Pizza”! The pizza was fantastic! Absolutely delectable! The vada paav were slightly small in size for the price, but they tasted fantastic! Menu, beverage selection, and service are all excellent! The owner also assisted us in taking some fantastic photographs! Cheers to him! Everyone should absolutely try the pizza here! And lastly the best part of our meal was the desert- the Gajar ka Halwa!

I’m visiting New Haven and Darbar in a Branford used to be a weekly restaurant experience for us many years ago so we thought we would try it again. We had it delivered to the hotel. We ordered lamb samosas, lamb curry, chicken tikka masala (void of cream) and plain Naan. Needless to say the food texture was like it had just been defrosted, there was little if any flavor to the sauce, the samosas were over cooked and I couldn’t eat it once I opened it, and the Naan was bland. It was anything but what it used to be and overall very disappointing.

Darbar is one of the best and authentic restaurant I have visited so far in USA. The food was really tasty and delicious. They served one of the best mango lassi. The staff was friendly and attentive. Yes, they have plenty of vegetarian dishes to pick.

Food is really good. For Asian or who like spicy have to request them to make spicy. But best Indian taste pizza and the veg and non veg thali are great. 1 thali is good for 2 people. Samosas are also nice but the bread is little thick so it give hard time to chew and swallow. Owner is really nice and friendly.

Now this place is very special, my family and I have been to several Indian restaurants in ct and this one hit home for us. All the flavors of every dish were amazing. We literally had no complaints. The service was on point the dishes they brought out to us were incredible especially the tacos and the pizza who would’ve thought that Indians would be eating a pizza. The creativity in this place definitely change the game. My family and I will definitely be back for more. If you haven’t been here or you’re thinking about it, you need to go here.

This is the first place I ever tried Indian Food and fell in love with it! The staff hasn’t changed much over the years, so they are incredibly friendly, kind, and remember us when we come in. The location has recently moved, but the food is still just as delicious! My go to is Chicken Tikka Masala, but I recently got the Chef’s Special (Non-Vegetarian) which is a sampling of many different classic dishes. It is more than enough for one person, you probably could share it though if you don’t have a huge appetite. It comes with rice, and I got plain naan – though the garlic naan is also amazing! They also have some great Indian beers.
