I’ve never had a bad meal from Darbar. Whether dining in or doing take out, the food is fresh and the flavors are great. Service is fantastic – we’re always well taken care of! Some of the fusion options are fun twist, especially as a way to get people in your group trying Indian food for the first time. But the classic staples on the menu are always a home run. Saag Paneer is my favorite with Gulab Jamun for dessert!

Got to try some of their Indian fusion pizzas at an event. They were fantastic. I’ve had other attempts at Indian fusion pizza, but this is by far the best. The ratio of toppings to curry was perfect. The pizza was also cooked through, with the right amount of crunch. Didn’t get a chance to try any other items from the menu, but will definitely be back at some point.

I tried the Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza at Darbar India, and it honestly surprised me in the best way. The flavors hit perfectly the creamy masala sauce, tender tikka pieces, and the cheesy crust all work together. I had it for the first time today, and it instantly became one of my favorite pizzas in Connecticut. I can easily say this is one of the best pizzas in CT. Give it a try if you want something different and really good.

We recently visited Darbar in Branford for its Indian fusion food and it was well worth the drive. For appetizers, we tried the Chicken Lollipop (huge pieces served with a flavorful tikka masala chutney) and the Onion Rings in Dosa Batter — a creative and delicious fusion dish. Drinks were equally impressive: a refreshing Strawberry Lassi and a Desi-style Old Fashioned infused with cardamom.
For mains, we ordered Lamb Vindaloo Tacos and Paneer Tikka Tacos (both medium spicy). The tacos were massive, stuffed, and full of flavor, with an extra vindaloo sauce on the side to adjust spice levels. We ended the meal with a Mango Kulfi that was creamy and satisfying.
The food was outstanding, portions were generous, and the staff — especially the lady owner/manager who helped with our table — was courteous and attentive. Although there was a slip with our appetizer order, they quickly corrected it and kindly removed it from the bill.
The restaurant itself is clean with a decent ambiance, though indoor seating can feel a bit tight. Outdoor seating is available, and parking could be tricky if it’s busy, but curbside spots are nearby.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and can’t wait to return to try more from their creative menu!

Came here on a Saturday night. 2nd time coming here and this place is delicious!! Samosa chaat, Chicken korma and Chicken madras was great. I ordered the Korma extra spicy and the gentleman that took my order was very nice and asked what spicy level I wanted and I let him know 1-10 i wanted it a 10. It was perfect. Also ordered plain naan which good too. The portions are great. Its a comfortable atmosphere though when its busy it can seem very loud inside from other diners. I will be back!! Everyone working here was pleasant as well.

I ordered via uber eats. The chicken lollipop was just okay. In the name of “spicy,” they simply added ground red chilies, which didn’t really enhance the flavor much. The Chicken Maharaja tasted more like butter chicken or chicken tikka masala — slightly sweet and tangy rather than rich and distinctive.

Overall, the dishes were average and didn’t quite meet expectations.

We drove almost 40 minutes to Darbar and we were not disappointed at all. The food was amazing and as tasty as some reviews. My wife and I were very pleased with the service and the proportion of food. We orders appetizers and we were stuffed before the entrée came. The owner came over to check on us and if everything was to satisfying. I highly recommend this place family friendly environment…

best food and best customer service out of any restaurant we’ve been to. all the staff are friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the food. owner and his son always welcome us when we visit. we always request Sanjay as our server; he is the best, treats us like family, and gives the best recommendations. both the food and service you receive here truly blow other places out of the water—they aren’t even close. can’t recommend it enough! we wish there was a location closer to us yet it is worth the 1-hour drive

I cannot say enough positive things about this place. I had my first experience with the food via Uber Eats. After having tried a few different places, I arrived at my conclusion: This is the best Indian Restaurant in CT that I’ve had the privilege of trying.

My sister and I started ordering weekly from this spot and decided to go in for a sit-down experience. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by the owner and a very friendly bar staff. Per the staff’s recommendation, I had my first ever Rupee Mango—a very popular Indian beer, apparently. It was delicious. I asked for a standard old fashioned, and it was one of the best I have ever had. The food was excellent as expected, but obviously even better than ordering it via takeout.

What really stood out to me was the pride that the owner demonstrated in his business and his people. Towards the end of our meal one of his sons came over to chat with us, and it was great. Incredible experience with wonderful people. Would give 10 stars if I could.

Wishing this wonderful establishment a prosperous 2026! See you next time.
