The taste of Shoyu Ramen reminds me of my favorite Ramen in my hometown. It’s not so oily and salty. The surface of the pork meat 焼豚 was grilled so nice! The seats are for 6 people, and the temperature was not too cold to stay in there.

Dao Shang He Ramen, a newly opened restaurant in Glen Cove, New York, is a surprisingly pleasant find for me. For someone who loves ramen noodles served in broth, and samples them every chance he could, the two bowls of Dao Shang He’s ramen I tried were both nicely presented and well-proportioned. The noodles were cooked just right, soft but not soggy. The broth was flavorful but not too thick or too rich, not oily or salty. Together, the broth and the noodles were well-balanced with the rest of the ingredients (chashu pork, bamboo shoots, corn, tofu and scallion) in the bowls. Well done! Dao Shang He Ramen makes it an easy choice to make when looking for a soothing and fulfilling bowl of noodle soup.
