Popped in for lunch on Sunday. Food was good, service was good, and the interior was bright and clean. Hot and sour soup was a top-3 I’ve had in Essex county. Crab Rangoon had a nice crispy exterior and cheesy, flavorful filling. Fried dumplings (with chicken) were good; they were pan fried, not deep fried. The Chengdu Spicy Chicken could have been a lot spicier but it was still good. And the dry sautéed string beans were also really good.
We ordered way too much for two people for lunch and ended up bringing half of each of the entrees home for dinner, which we will gladly shovel into our mouth-holes later tonight.

I travel around and find soup dumplings because they are my favorite food. This place is excellent. My wife loves Chinese food and after living in the area for 3 1/2 years she finally is ecstatic about a Chinese restaurant.

The general tsos chicken is so yummy! It comes with a bird made out of a radish! How fun! The atmosphere is very nice as well and the waiters were nice enough to let me have the duck to take home!

Tried a couple of dishes today. The one I love the most is the Shanghai soup dumplings. The soup inside was so good and the pork was so good too. This this is a must try. My second favorite was the chicken with eggplant . The chicken was not dry. Just right. Very flavorful. The waiter was very helpful and tentative. Will come back with the family next time to try more dishes.

I’m eating Dao right now. My wife picked up this dinner hours ago and it has been sitting on our kitchen table in the bag until now. It is excellent. I have beef lo mein and the flavor is really balanced. It’s not too greasy like others have been. Really tasty egg rolls too, even though they’re cold and not crispy any more (our fault). The miso soup rocks, the seaweed and tofu in it are perfectly tender and enjoyable. When you stir the miso, you can see the flavor tornado inside, yum! My wife’s sesame chicken is made of nice real chicken pieces, legit.
We have also dined-in here, and the staff has been friendly and quick. They have good tea. I’m being overwhelmingly positive here, but I’m really enjoying what im eating.

1st time here, the service was amazing, all employees were very kind, friendly & pay attention on their customers [Very Professional ].
Foods were not bad. We like the Dumpling Soup / Xiao Long Bao, Crab Rangoon was pretty good, too.
We love the snow peas shoot steamed vegetables.
Peking duck was ok. The Mala Pot dish was disappointed, didn’t taste Mala at all & and was tasteless. Veggie Lo Mien was not bad.
They gave us Free Ice Cream
We’re still going back here for the good foods & will try a different dish every time we’re coming

There’s not many NJ Chinese restaurants around that bring classic dishes and wholesome service to the table, and Dao Madison does just that! (NY has the best Chinese and this family brings their NY taste to NJ)
Restaurant is clean, has parking, and is family run and operated!
Food is delicious! I recommend the sesame chicken it’s crispy and the cold sesame noodles were the best I’ve ever had!
A nice touch is they offer free wonton chips for dipping that are found in more old school restaurants.
Highly recommend you give Dao a try, the place was packed and rightfully so!

We had the best food here and the service was excellent. We drove from Hoboken and had some of the best Chinese! Everything was so fresh and warm. Thanks for being so welcoming, even with our little baby! Can’t wait to come back
