Located in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix in Geneva, this restaurant is phenomenal! The experience is really unique and worth doing once! The staff is really nice, special thumbs up to our waitress Carolina! All the dishes were excellent and the fact of not seeing what you are eating is kind of weird at first but then your other senses develop and compensate.

Incredible experience! Dining in the dark is very interesting – observing how other senses in the body take charge and trying to guess what are you eating is so much fun! On top the wonderful service of kind Raj made evening even better – we felt very well taken care of 🙂

This was the most incredible dinner of my life. Pedro was truly amazing and to learn he was blind was so inspiring. This concept is just amazing and we are so glad to have been able to dine here while in Geneva!

The experience was overall very unique and fun, and Pédro was very friendly and made the experience very good. The hospitality was very good, we really enjoyed the experience.

The restaurant is happy to cater to all dietary requirements and allergies, and we had the vegan menu, however after a promising starter, the main which was vegetable based, and the desert which was fruit based was far from comparable to what others ate.

I would suggest to the team of such a high end establishment, that in the modern day when people are concerned about animals exploitation, plant forward menus should positively contain vegan meats and vegan desserts which are the vegan equivalents. Replacing beef with cauliflower does not make a substantial meal and is certainly not fair to a consumer to pay so much for so little.

In the 21st century, let’s promote positively cuisine which does not exploit the innocent and helpless animals. If you would like to privately reach me for more ideas then I will be more than happy to help.

I recently dined at Dans le Noir to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. The concept is unique, and the food itself was good — creative — but overall, the experience was very disappointing, mainly due to poor service and a lack of attention to detail.

Apart from the friendly woman at the reception, the service inside was subpar. Our waiter, Pedro, spoke very little to no English, which made communication difficult and left us feeling quite isolated. He barely interacted with us, didn’t take the time to explain the games or what was happening around the table, and even forgot to clear plates and wine glasses at one point. To make things more uncomfortable, he kept calling me “superstar” throughout the dinner — perhaps thinking it was funny — but as a woman, I found it inappropriate and unprofessional. It came across as sexist (because I didn’t hear him calling names for the men around the table), especially in what’s meant to be a fine-dining environment. There’s a certain etiquette expected in hospitality, and this is definitely not it.

The food alone doesn’t justify the price — you go there for the experience, which I was more than happy to pay for to make my boyfriend’s birthday special. Unfortunately, the interactive elements that make Dans le Noir unique were completely missing for English-speaking guests. If you’re going to seat diners at a communal table (which I completely understand), it would make sense to group English speakers together. I totally get that this is a French-speaking city, but in that case, the restaurant should either designate specific slots for English-speaking guests or clearly indicate on the website that the experience is primarily in French — which I would have completely understood and respected. Had I known, I simply wouldn’t have booked.

I honestly can’t believe I’m pointing out such basic marketing considerations to a restaurant connected to a supposedly five-star hotel. Overall, while the concept is super interesting in theory, the execution fell far short of expectations. Not recommended for English speakers…

This was such a lovely experience that everyone should try at least once in their life! It’s funny, intriguing and the food was great with unique flavors combined.
The servers are all blind and it’s beautiful to witness them serving us in a restaurant and having this opportunity.
Highly recommend!
Only thing portions are quite small

Very fun in a big group or couple. It was very fun to get to know the other people at our table. Pedro the server was a lot of fun. The menu was a great mix of textures and flavors that you don’t normally have together. Great experience!

Good experience, an awakening of senses. We were in early 7pm slot so was in a bit of quiet before the rest came later. My only complain is the noise. They said people tend to speak louder when they can’t see. I think they just packed a small room. The entry vegetarian is very good as well as dessert. But main fish was a bit salty. The type of experience you will only come once. The happy birthday singing is ok once but too much when you have to sing for many guests.
