Wonderful bbq. The food was amazing. Spoke with Dannys son. Great guy. We did have a minor mixup with our order but they fixed it immediately with no issue at all. Also let us keep the wrong item as well. He was super friendly and the place seemed well staffed. Good job guys!

A great classic BBQ place. Get there early before they run out of your favorites! A sign of good BBQ is they run out early and have a full house of locals.
The meat is amazing and the sides are good.

This place is pretty easily one of the best BBQ joints I’ve ever visited – and you can tell by the lines out the door during lunch time. It’s a cafeteria style order which makes it quick and easy to point and chose what you want. Prices are super reasonable since it’s obvious that it’s a mom and pop store.

Get there early to avoid the lines and to get a table, or else you’ll be eating standing up which I see some people do, or they sit on the sidewalk curb outside – ya, it’s that good! Picture/taste in your mind a Sonny’s BBQ that’s 10 times better and 10 times more selection of sides, meet cuts, succulence, etc.

Coming from Memphis we have a lot of bbq. I heard good things about NC BBQ. So I had to try it. The ribs were cooked really well. The flavor of the meat was well seasoned. Good food, but the ribs are St. Louis Ribs. Potato salad was good. The NC vinegar sauce was different. I’d give it another try to try the brisket.

Solid BBQ offering in easy-going counter service environment. There’s a mix of BBQ and fried foods here. I tried the brisket (as one might expect for NC), ribs (good), fried catfish (excellent), green beans (meh), mac n cheese (good), and fried okra (excellent). Danny clearly takes his frying seriously and that pairs well with BBQ!

To the gentleman that told me to support the bottom, maybe just give the customer another 10 cent bag to avoid dropping the disintegrated paper bag and half the office lunch.

The food is consistently neither remarkable nor particularly bad, and I come here for a quick bite when I need a BBQ fix. I would probably rate the place higher if every time I came in I didn’t get the feeling that they were constantly trying to drive everyone out. The staff aren’t particularly friendly and even though the hours listed on the door say they are open until two, they start closing the dining room down as early as 1p. Turning over the table chairs while people are still eating is rude and says that your focus is on pushing people out instead of providing good food and service. As I write this, at 1:30 they are already turning over chairs. Disappointing.

Good barbecue sandwiches but it was a bit weird being served on Texas toast. This is North Carolina, why are you doing Texas things? But I’m an out-of–towner who doesn’t know North Carolina BBQ from Texas BBQ so oh well. But it was good. Not great, but good. Sauce was good too. I had the vinegar sauce. Just remember to shake it up first. Sweet tea wasn’t all that sweet considering this is the south but that’s OK with me. But I was looking forward to some real southern hyper sweet tea and all I got was normal sweet tea. Boring, but fine I guess.

You order at a counter here and they serve you quickly and efficiently. I liked the hush puppies too. Like Hush Puppy in Shari Lewis, only a food. It is yummy. Reminds me of my childhood watching Lamb Chop, Charlie Horse, and Hush Puppy.

They have many booths and tables, more than enough.

Oh my… Just had pork, potato salad and fries. Great barbecue place, great for the family and moderate price. I heard so much about this place and finally made it.
