Had an outstanding dinner with my wife at Dannis. I ordered the Bayou platter, everything was fresh and delicious, an authentic Cajun dish that I enjoyed very much. I had the bread pudding for dessert, would highly recommend! Great food and atmosphere, staff was wonderful. We will be back here!

My Cajun family loves this restaurant. It’s a homey little hole-in-the-wall place run by a mom and her daughter. They’ve got all of the Louisiana and NOLA classics, and our favorite is the crab cakes and the crawfish éttouffée. And the crawfish breaaaad is delicious!!!

Because it’s a small family business, they are only open on Thursday – Saturday. Plan ahead for a chill, slow dinner because there’s only one waiter in this cozy little spot. BUT she is the BEST. Go support this local gem!!

The best authentic New Orleans restaurant in North Texas. It’s a family owned and operated eatery. The family is from Uptown New Orleans, 3rd Ward. The eatery has been in business for over six years. Yes, it survived Covid! The menu is very robust with New Orleans favorites. Very well seasoned food. Generous portions. Not overwhelming heat, but wonderful flavors that stimulate the palette . And wow, the friendliness and attention you get from the wait staff is outstanding! Thanks, Indie, for your excellent service. I can’t day enough. The eatery is located in Sherman, TX. I quick drive north of Dallas, up 75. Oh, I forgot to mention the desserts. We wanted to try them all. We settled on the bread pudding, so succulent and flavorful. It was eaten before I remembered to take a pic .

How is Sherman gonna sleep on this place?! The audacity! Ok so first, it’s a down home hole in the wall place heavy on the New Orleans atmosphere. If you’ve been to New Orleans this will feel familiar. Bathroom is small but there are thoughtful touches such as a folding changing table for babies (you can tell women run this business ) We sat at a comfy bar height table and chairs right in the front window and it was perfect.
Now the food… y’all, the FOOD… So as other reviews mention, it’s a little pricey but it’s seafood we’re dealing with people…you want good seafood that’s fresh all the way up here in North Texas then you have to pay a little bit for it. My husband and I split a dish called “Deep Dirty South” and let me just say that I hurt myself ok? It’s that damn good. It’s dirty rice, with a crab cake on top, a fried fish fillet on top of that and then smothered with crawfish etouffee. It’s perfection ✨ We also got the gator bites and y’all that sauce she gives you to dip them in is amazing. Something else that was different that I loooved was when you get a drink it comes in a glass mug and instead of a bunch of ice chips that float all around and melt too fast and aways get in the way when you drink, they use one big cube of ice that perfectly fit in the mug. So cool. I didn’t catch the name of the amazing lady working in there but she was awesome and they made us feel like family. They kept hollering goodbye and come back to see us as we left. I can’t wait to go back! Definitely a new favorite for me!!

This was our first time here and oh my goodness what a hidden gem. The costumer service is great! The atmosphere is fun yet relaxing and the food…the food is the best. We felt like we were in New Orleans again. We will be back, and we will tell all of of friends about this place. Don’t listen to the reviews about time..great food takes time and I promise you, it’s worth it.

This place was amazing! Our host Indanielle was our hostess, and shes amazing! My wife and I were in Sherman, Tx. We were looking for a New Orleans restaurant and we found the best! This restaurant is hands down the best New Orleans food I’ve ever had and especially here in Texas. It’s an amazing ambiance, I can’t wait to go again. Fyi…Get the Hurricane drink!!

Food is amazing. I got the Danni’s pasta and couldn’t have been happier with it. Had frog legs for an appetizer and they were great as well. Bonus is the tea isn’t something from a bag, good strong brewed tea and not weak looking like pond water. My wife and I will definitely be back.
