I love good Italian beef sandwiches, and they are not always easy to find. I have been trying to get over to Dank Beef for a while. Angelo is mostly open at night, especially this time of year… as he says the lunch crowd is almost non-existent.

I finally got lucky today, while out wandering around downtown. I asked Angelo to make me an OG with au jus on the side, so I could take it home and have it for dinner. He was very accommodating… and got me fixed right up! Enjoyed chatting with him too… great guy!

After I got home, about dinner time… I heated up the sandwich in the oven, wrapped in foil. Nuked the au jus he sent me home with, and got out the giardiniera that I had in the fridge. Loaded the sandwich up with giardiniera, poured the au jus over the top (I love these sandwiches wet!), and then devoured it. I did have to add a little salt, and even hit it with some hot sauce, because I like it that way.

Great sandwich… LOTs of meat, the smoked provolone was perfect, and the roll it was on was tasty too. Definitely a full meal!

Highly recommended, and I hope to see you there.

Walked up sloppy drunk with my puppy one night and was asked my opinion on the old pretzels and the new sticks gave him my most autistic and honest drunk awnser well it seems he listened and thebne pretzels are banger. Not to mention chief now knows whe. The sign comes on the best beef in town is ready to be dished out. Absolutely hands down best thin sliced beef back east slap yo moma awake for not making the beef that good sandwich I’ve ever had and then add the spicy peppers its a experience. 13 /10 from chief and Shea kreth

Love this place! Sandwiches are great and Angelo will tell you all about Chicago if you ask. Highly recommend the Tilla-mac (Mac&cheese made with Tillamook cheese) and some peppers on your sandwich. Best place to grab a quick bite after a night out.

Just had me Chicago Vienna Hot Dog at DankBeef. Babomb! The owner is just sharing his passion with the west coast for some delicious dogs and sandwiches. Super impressed by his decision to pair a perfect bun with steamed hot dog that he gets shipped here just so we can experience.

An excellent experience from the beginning. The sandwich maker was super nice and raved about the item I ordered, which is always great. I got the OG with mild spice level, no changes. The meat was tender and flavorful, the bread was soft but held up to the jus, and the giardinera was original. My only suggestion is to get tables in the square to sit and slam this sandwich with two hands.

We tried Dank Beef for the first time and food is delicious!! We ordered the Dank beef and the OG
Sandwich and pretzel twists w/cheese dip. We got the pickled peppers on the sandwiches, so good. My only suggestion is less salt on the pretzel twist and bun for the sandwich, other than that great food. Definitely recommend checking it out and showing your support.

Absolutely loved it. The toasted pretzel bun was the best I have EVER had. Beef was incredible, absolutely no chewiness, with great flavor, especially the spicy peppers. He customized my sandwich exactly how I wanted it, made to order, and great hospitality. I definitely recommend.
