Phil and Sarah
During our three-day getaway, my wife and I had coffee and breakfast at Daniel Boone Coffee Shop on both Friday and Saturday morning — and it quickly became one of our favorite parts of the trip.
The service was amazing. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel appreciated. It’s the kind of place where you can sit down, relax, and enjoy a quiet morning together before heading out for the day.
The coffee was excellent, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious both mornings. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, and it was the perfect way to start our days exploring Red River Gorge.
If you’re in the area, don’t skip this spot. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.

We stopped here before we left to go home after stay at the cabin in Red River Gorge.
My friend told me about this place. We decided to get some breakfast. I ordered breakfast sandwich of sausage and everything bagel with egg and cheese and also drip coffee. They were really good.
I would recommend to stop by this place for breakfast and check out their small store. I will definitely stop by once I go back for hiking in good weather.

BEST shop in the RRG area! Had the breakfast burrito , every morning… generous size and tasted so fresh! Amazing biscuits and gravy! My partner is a stickler about his and has never found some he has liked at a restaurant (except his own) but he loved these! Great coffee. Has a gift shop inside and even a small liquor area with a wide variety. Atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. Also has a back patio. Make sure you stop here…you won’t regret it!!!

We came in at a peak busy time on a Sunday morning. While the line was long and the place was packed, it moved quickly and we were able to get a table by the time we ordered. We had the vegan bagel sandwich and breakfast sandwich. Both were good, not amazing but it comes us up for a hike! The coffee was the star of the show. The Boone was DELICIOUS and I love the flavor of the roasted coffee from Deeper Roots in Cincinnati. Another thing I enjoyed was looking through the cute items in the store while standing in line. I got a magnet and pin souvenir and some Ale 8 for the road! This place has everything you need to grab before a day on the trails!

Genuinely great coffee. I drink only black coffee, so whatever their house drip coffee is, it was amazing. I cannot speak on the smoothies or any of the food. If you do not arrive early, prepare to stand in line for twenty-plus minutes before ordering. Overall, it is a great place.

Nice local spot. The coffee was good. I was able to grab Kentucky Mountain Moonshine while there too. Decent variety of souvenirs and other local things to grab too. The breakfast sandwich was 10/10. Also the pastries they have are good too. Recommend the scone*

I got a cold brew and was served promptly and pleasantly. Staff was helpful with any questions and when I asked for a little more sweetener, I like super sweet coffee. Great little gift shop too. I collect magnets from all the places we go and I found a super cute and affordable one here. The artwork near and in the restroom was beautiful.

The food was delicious! I knew exactly what I wanted before I arrived only to find out the online menu is not up to date. Not a problem though, there were plenty of other delicious things on the menu! The breakfast cocktails were a nice surprise too. I uploaded some recent pictures of the menu, hope that helps until the online menu is updated

☕ Daniel Boone Coffee Shop: So Good, We Went Back Twice
When you’re in Red River Gorge and find a coffee shop that hits all the right notes—you go two days in a row. No shame.
At Daniel Boone Coffee Shop, we fueled up with their loaded teas (hello, energy!) and dove into a breakfast burrito that’s big enough to share—but honestly, you won’t want to. Stuffed with bacon, egg, hash browns, onion, peppers, and cheese, with salsa on the side for that perfect kick. It’s everything you need before (or after) a hike.
Then came the cinnamon roll—a gooey, sweet swirl of cinnamon-spiced comfort that honestly spoke to our souls. And don’t even get us started on the white chocolate raspberry scone. Flaky, soft, just the right amount of sweet—basically a scone with main character energy.
The vibe? Cozy and woodsy with a cute little gift shop full of local goodies and mountain charm. Whether you’re craving caffeine, carbs, or a cute candle—this place delivers.
We came for coffee. We left planning our third visit.
