I live in Bend and it’s about time I gave a review about this family Viet restaurant. I ordered the special Bun Thang Hanoi today and it is spectacular. A broth with so many layers of chicken, dried shrimp, and shiitake mushrooms with vermicelli noodles, sausage, shrimp, egg strips and so many aromatic herbs. I dumped the sprouts and basil and just a dash of chili oil, don’t mute this broth. I ordered a Bahn-Mi to-go because it always slaps and keeps well in the fridge. Thank you Dangs 🙂

We were so so disappointed in Dangs We wanted it to be good so dang bad. We ordered chicken wings, lemongrass beef vermiclli and lemongrass chicken rice dish. The chicken wings were crispy, not very seasoned but what really threw me off is they were served with a yum yum type sauce rather than a garlic fish sauce im used to seeing at vietnamese places. The lemongrass beef on my vermicelli bowl unfortunately just tasted like grill char taste and not of lemongrass at all. Also there was no bean sprouts or matchstick pickled carrots or daikon, just iceberg lettuce and rice noodles and peanuts. The fish sauce didn’t really help. The chicken in the chicken rice dish was pretty much the same unseasoned grill char taste.
Honestly we immediately boxed up our food here and left to go directly to Pho Viet Cafe.
The only redeeming factor was the small side of pho they gave us with the chicken dish, it was very good broth, I would assume their pho isnt half bad but itll definitely be a while until I get the courage to try them again :/

Where to even start!!!! The service was amazing and they are super friendly and soft spoken. Now the food was just wonderful, from the taste to the smell! Fast service and very clean restaurant. Loved hearing people slurping the pho. That’s how you know it’s great food when everyone is slurping and not talking.

Great food, amazing pho. I tried a special dish (first pictured) with egg noodles, mushroom, shrimp and chicken. I wish I could remember the name, but honestly the pho was better anyway—more flavor. My partner go meatball pho (pictured second) and that was the winner. Very chill atmosphere. Friends was playing on the TV which I enjoyed (10/10).

I normally get Chicken Pho from another restaurant but tried Dang’s through DoorDash… The broth was incredible and the chicken was moist. My only regret is that I didn’t explore other options sooner. The flavor was spot on and I look forward to ordering again!

Yum yum! One of the best bowls of vegetarian pho I’ve ever had!! Fresh veggies and basil. Plenty of noodles. Nice portion of tofu. My boyfriend had the vermicelli #1 and he said it was delicious. The Thai tea was great too! Great service. Clean, quiet atmosphere. We love Dang’s!!

+ Not the best, not the worst Pho…but I’d imagine pretty good for Bend, OR. Correct me if I’m wrong, I’m not from around here.
+ No MSG which I always appreciate. The broth has a clean and light flavor. Some would same bland, but I still thought it was fine as is without dousing it with hoisin or sriracha sauce.
+ The crispy egg rolls were decent. Nice crisp skin and wasn’t too dry on the inside. I wish it came with lettuce for wrapping but the small side of veggies were fine.
+ Clean interior with plenty of seating. We had no problem getting seated.
+ Service was okay. Not very attentive but it wasn’t hard to flag them down when we needed.
+ Clean restrooms for patrons
+ Prices are decent and reasonable
+ Portions are fair

Overall, not a very memorable meal but I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it!

I’m not sure if the guy mistook me for a delivery driver instead of a paying customer, but his incredibly rude behavior completely ruined my appetite. This was my first and last time eating here. I also reported them on DoorDash because I would never want my driver to be treated that way! I want to support local, minority owned businesses… just not this one ever again. It’s quite unfortunate that basic human decency seems to be lacking these days. I don’t recommend.

For Bend, it’s not bad at all! The bon bo hue was very delicious. Would definitely come back again if I was craving pho or Vietnamese food. What really wow’ed me was the sweet service! I can tell they are very nice people who make delicious food.
