Old-fashioned Italian fine dining from a family-run restaurant off Rittenhouse Square.

Stopped by unplanned and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming—exactly what you’d expect from a family-owned restaurant. The staff was super friendly and the service was excellent and very attentive.
Food-wise, the bruschetta was a standout—fresh and flavorful. The chicken marsala was solid, and the acciugata (anchovy pasta) had a bold flavor, though it was quite salty—definitely for those who enjoy anchovies.
Overall, it’s a decent spot with great service, but to be honest, there are better Italian restaurants in the city.

This place is a must. The the owner greeted us right at the door, came by and sang on his guitar, every employee was super friendly and the food was out of this world. If you are in Philly and want tome good Italian come here

I went for Restaurant Week by myself. They accommodated me for my change of seating. My server was Dave and he was very attentive. I had the white bean soup and the salmon and shrimp dish with a side of ziti. I had bread and rose wine. Everything was delicious including the canolli for desert. I ate everything. I’ll be back for my birthday in August.

Came during restaurant week – the food, vibes and service were cozy and excellent! The house salad was delicious, chicken parm and ziti was perfectly cooked – the sauce is fabulous! The cannoli was PERFECTION… we will be back!

The staff are excellent, friendly, and attentive; we also saw the owner wandering the dining rooms. The interior is lovely and interesting. The food is rather good, though the portions are somewhat small, at least in terms of pasta / vegetables. Appetizers were excellent, and the house bread was good. I enjoyed the experience, but I prefer several other Italian restaurants in the city.

Very nice Italian restaurant in an urban setting. I went there to attend a family reunion dinner. We had a reservation for 38 people. We were seated promptly, and enough servers were assigned to our party. Our service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The servers were attentive enough so that we never felt neglected, but they were not overly obtrusive.
The kitchen staff must have been equally well organized because our orders were delivered in a timely way. The portions were generous but not excessive, and everyone praised the taste of their meal.
I had a D’Angelo signature salad. It was excellent. They didn’t have eggplant parmesan on the menu, but that’s what I wanted, and they made it for me. It was outstanding.
The prices were reasonable, and the decor was very nice. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five was that parking is very difficult in that neighborhood, I needed to park three blocks away, and most of the seating is on the second or third floor, and they don’t have an elevator.
If you are in the neighborhood already and you don’t mind walking up one or two flights of stairs, then I highly recommend D’Angelo’s.

Not bad, but not amazing. It is incredibly popular and incredibly busy. The spaghetti and meatballs, which won a best of Philly award, was good, but again not as good as the award might suggest. Because the restaurant was so busy, the service was okay. I think that there are a lot of people who love this place because it was packed. Maybe a case of different strokes for different folks.

Philly girl here! If you want a classic Philly experience this is the place to be in Center City. From the moment you enter you are transformed back to an old school Italian vibe with a range of menu options form spaghetti and meatballs that you had at mom moms house to fine special. A must have visited place on your list if you live or are visiting the city. If your lucky enough, Sal one of the owners will serenade ywirh a guitar!

Vegetarian perspective
Very old school Italian place, and you can tell some people have been coming here for decades. But young people sprinkled in too. Not particularly my vibe, but nonetheless good amount of seating and very friendly staff so it was nice.
The table bread was dry, and there weren’t many vegetarian options. It’s an old school place with old school menu, so I wasn’t super surprised though. However, I got the asparagus pasta in pink cream sauce and it was good.
