Such a Cool Culinary Discovery!!! Yes, I realize that they’ve been there a few years now but somehow we never took the initiative to dine there. Well we will ignore no more… Dandelion is a top notch restaurant in every respect. Our hostess was welcoming, our server was friendly and helpful and third person delivered our freshly prepared meals directly from the kitchen. I had the House Big Salad with blue cheese and my girlfriend had the tomato pie. Both dishes were downright delicious and and can guarantee we will be back for lunch many times in the future.

Returned today and had the chick pea burger on a potato bun with potato salad. Added potato chips asking if they were in a bag but I failed to communicate I was going to take them with me. They were well presented in a bowl emptied from the bag. Nice waitress gave me a bag to go! ❤️

Fantastic food, prepared as fresh as possible. Not a huge selection, but we ended up with 5 different items from the menu, and all was superb! We appreciated that they support their community and asked for donations rather than tips for the workers. Speaking of workers- the servers and front end cashier were all volunteers.

What a delightful place! The volunteers working are only matched by the food on offer. My wife enjoyed the special that tomato pie: generous portion, crispy top but rich filling. I enjoyed the power salad, again generously sized and no skimping on the ingredients with creamy apple cider dressing. I prefer the vinegar version, but it was still well-prepared. Sweet tea was not the traditional southern sugar with a side of tea, but nicely balanced between sweet and unsweet. Finished wonderful meal with banana pudding. Fortunately, the refrigerated and creamy version which I prefer to the cooked, though many are fans I know. Only downside, the obnoxious parking garage next door, if you are eating outside: beep-beep, etc each time car comes out which happens too frequently. Great organization doing important work!

What a lovely place! The service is mostly volunteer run and they are always so friendly. The food was so good, and the shrimp and grits is to die for. I always get the TBA wrap, but this time they convinced me to try the champions chicken caprese and wowowow! Their homemade foccacia is so good! I took their bagged mix home with me and can’t wait to try to cook it for myself. Great organization and even better food.

Safelight is a wonderful institution and their cafe has good food. I will continue to support this establishment in spite of how rude the man working there was.
My wife ordered food to-go and while she was waiting patiently for our order, this man accosted her.
“You know we serve food here -right?”
He was insinuating that she was just sitting there for no reason, squatting or something, when she’s paid for our meals and patiently waiting. It was really off-putting, put a damper on the experience, having this guy in an apron hassling a customer while they wait for their food. It was a really stupid insinuation and he spoke to my wife like he thought she was an idiot, in the most condescending way.
It’s not going to keep me from frequenting the cafe, because I believe in what they’re doing and the food is good. I wanted to share my disappointment with the service she received today though. I hope this never happens again.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch at Dandelion. My wrap was delicious. I ate every bite. There were so many yummy looking options on the menu. If I was local, this would be a regular lunch spot. The staff were very kind and the atmosphere was inviting.

This is such a cute little lunch spot! Today was my first visit and the person who took my order was so sweet and knowledgeable! The concept is simple, order at the counter, sit, and have your food brought out to you. I love that they give you the option to donate to the services Safelight provides. Everything on the menu sounded SO good, and I will definitely be back to try their fall salad special.

So I’ve been eating here since you opened. I’ve also had a shop on main for 17 years and send so many people to you. Your food is always delicious and the shrimp and grits are a favorite. I was VERY disappointed to see the price has gone up again to $18 and bow NO SIDE…that’s just not fair…that’s a LOT for lunch with no side. And last time I was there you did get a side with the shrimp and grits. PLEASE put back a side with that dish..
