A really delightful first experience here! Loved the atmosphere, a chill vibe, great for a relaxing Friday night meal. My husband and I devoured the dumplings in chili oil. Just the right amount of spice. That was our absolute favorite! We also had the scallion pancakes, which were deliciously crispy. I got the ginger shredded duck and loved it. My husband got the special – a spicy braised duck with vegetables. It was huge! He was very happy. We will definitely return.

If you want proper Sichuan food, this is the place. The dan dan noodles and mapo tofu are excellent, with deep umami and the numbing mala balance done right. Bold flavors without being sloppy or muted.
The potstickers, however, are a pass and do not match the level of the mains.

this place had the best food i’ve ever hand in my entire life by far. me and my mom were absolutely astonished by how great the food was and the customer service was great too. if you want the wind knocked out of you because of how good the food is definitely come here. it’s a family style restaurant so beware and not order a whole bunch of food like me and my mom

Will be coming back, I really liked this place! It was worth coming to on an off/day time (good luck getting in on a Saturday night with no reservations). The cumin lab noodles were so good and so spicy with great flavor. Next I want to try the spicy beef noodles it was that good. Wontons in chili oil were great, definitely save the oil and put it on your rice. The eggplant and garlic sauce was good and a good balance to the spice of the lamb. Cute spot for a date night, highly recommend!
Edit:
Have come back multiple times one of my favorite spots for a nice night. Continues to be fantastic quality.

The spicy beef noodles and the wontons are always out of this world. The big shrimp pot could have used a bit more flavor but was still very good. DanDan is always worth the visit

I’m unable to attach my video to this review, but the food and ambiance are great! I ordered a chicken pot, and it came with a bowl over its own flame. There was the perfect amount of spice without compromising the flavor.

Came here on a Saturday night, we were seated on the second floor. I understand the restaurant can get busy on weekend nights, but the service was so slow that me and my friends almost walked out.
The food was ok, Americanized Chinese food, drinks were good. It’s very noisy though. Probably won’t be back.

I ordered the spicy noodles through Uber Eats, and honestly, the meat was mostly just fat. It was really unpleasant and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this.
I also don’t like the fact that they’re serving noodles without chopsticks

The host station was very friendly and attentive. Our waiter, while nice, had to be flagged down any time we needed something, which while not really a problem, was a bit off putting. It takes no time to check on our table when you’re checking every table around us. The food is phenomenal. We ordered multiple dishes and everything was fresh and fantastic. Will definitely be back.

I do food delivery and a lot of places treat us poorly. With that said this place is fantastic. The atmosphere is great and while I was waiting for an order that was still being prepared Rick the bartender was super polite and offered me some water. Alot of places won’t even let us use their bathrooms and this place treated me with the same respect as their paying customers. I look forward to eating here as a customer once I get a proper job. Few places in Philly deserve my money but this is one of them.
