There are some really great items on the menu that you will not find in other Indian restaurants in Austin. However, everything here is overpriced and served in small quantities.

I was excited to try the dal baati thali and while the food was flavorful, it was barely enough. And “chaas” (buttermilk) was served as the dessert. What! They call it the “Ultimate thali” with measly quantities of food and no real dessert.

Some chaat dishes like chole tikki are good.

Edit 2/16
The Mahashivratri special thali was quite good. It included sabudana khichidi, vada, aloo sabzi, bhagar, yogurt and makhana kheer. The food was delicious and filling.

Pathetic food.

Samosa Chole Chaat – The cholle was made in the morning and just reheated and provided. Samosa seemed to be frozen samosa.

Dabeli – They actually don’t give dabeli. They just provide regular vada pav bun and put some dabeli paste. So bad…

My recommendation – only have gujrati thali at this restaurant. They have a broad menu but other things are bad.

This Dana food is handled by the Dana Grocery store which is nearby. Their chat items are really good and food is having good taste. A year before their Thali was $11 only not now they increased it for the same quantity they give. Well tax and other prices are increasing so not sure if coz of that.

You get 10% discount when you pay in cash or shop in Dana grocery stories which is on the same complex. This store is located within THE PLAZA AT AVERY RANCH and so enough parking is there to shop your groceries and have dinner too.

Wish the pricing is bit less or they should increase the quantity. Ambience is really good and the staffs are really friendly. CHAT ITEMS are really good too. LOVED THEIR GOBI LOLIPOP

There is open backspace with tables if any open party to be conducted.

The Ultimate Thali was a ripoff. Very disappointed. The quantity was so small for $15 per Thali, we were only half full and had to go home and eat something else for dinner . The taste was ok and was not really Rajasthani though they claimed it was Rajasthani Thali
What a rip off!! To top it off they give it in a single use plastic tray that just goes to landfill. They need to remove the word thali from the name of the dish

My husband and I decided to grab something to eat, I was thinking Indian food but was being indecisive about it, my husband wanted Chinese food so we decided to go to one. When we made it to our location, that is when we saw Dana foods, my husband said hey let’s check it out. This was our first time there.

As we were reading through the menu, I did not recognize a lot of foods, and I asked the women who was serving what she would recommend, I let her know I wanted something spicy and would like to try something new, she was very confident in her choice, she told me to try the Dahi Sev Puri and we got some samosa. When we tried it was so amazing, the flavor, the blended spice, and texture it was very pleasant to our mouth!! Her recommendation was great a choice!

The best part to this day, other than the food is the genuine conversation the owner Pinal had with us for over 30 minutes. My husband and I really enjoyed getting to know her and laugh with her. She too recommend a dish Samosa Chole chat, which did not fail us. I enjoyed everything about the restaurant.

This is added to my number one list of Indian food spots! Thank you for the great experience!

This is a new Indian vegetarian eatery by the same management that owns Dana Bazaar (almost) next door.
The ambiance inside is nice, service was great. We tried chaat only and all the items were delicious – Gobi Manchurian, Pav Bhaji, Samosas.

Last week (7/5/24 evening) I went for dinner at Dana Foods @ Avery Ranch based on friends’ recommendation for Jain food. It was one of the worst Indian dinner experience. The front desk was a Nepali girl who had never tried the pav bhaji. My pav bhaji (picture below) was green/YELLOW with only peas in them! No tomatoes or cauliflower in it. After my request, she provided me a tiny piece of lemon and a bit of onions as garnish. The cook was a Hispanic guy who I suspect didn’t know Jain food. My guests who were Jain complained about garlic taste in their order. It seemed that the cook was also the server, and I asked him about Jain-food. But he couldn’t speak in English. I demanded to the front-desk that I see the manager or someone from the kitchen. She refused, stating that no one was available. My bill was more than $100. I asked the front-desk to “fix” my pav bhaji or provide a refund. She refused because she was not authorized. If you are a Jain then please be careful about what you eat there. This restaurant really needs to hire professional cooks who know Indian cuisine such as pav-bhaji. Please don’t eat the “green/yellow pav bhaji!” OR even better, go elsewhere for better desi meals. This restaurant needs new front-desk, better cooks and servers.

Super creative cabana theme, the food is very tasty but the quantity is slightly less than we expected. The customer service was excellent. We tried the Triple Schezuan Noodles, pretty good.
