What an amazing find of a Korean restaurant! I’ve been craving marinated shrimp and crab since coming back from a Korea trip and was happy to hear this restaurant had it on their menu.
We ordered their beef tartar, braised mackerel, and the marinated crab rice bowl combo (with marinated shrimp), as well as a bottle of Sang makgeolli. The portions were larger than expected, and all the food was delicious! The makgeolli was great as well.
The ambiance inside is very bright and modern. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Service was fast. Overall, great experience and would definitely come back to try other items on their menu.

The restaurant is located in the Santa Clara Korean town. Business is good. You should make the reservation for the restaurant so you don’t need to wait . The raw crab is fresh and rarely find in the bay area. The inside decorations are very fancy. Good for friends and family reunions. However, this restaurant is a bit overpriced. We haven’t finished our meals but the waitress is preparing to box our food.

After having spent 6 months in Seoul just this past year, Damso is a solid option that doesn’t leave me wanting for much. Very competitive in an otherwise saturated area with a lot of other options.
Decor is tasteful without being gaudy. Service was friendly and fast. A little on the pricey side, but this will be fancier than most.
The doenjiang had excellent depth with some kick, and the fish dishes had a delicious crisp fry to it. The sliced pork belly platter was probably the best I’ve had in the bay, yum.
There are some great options on this street, but I would not hesitate to recommend if you’re seeking great, slightly upscale Korean food.

Came here with friends recommending the barley rice set and to try the raw crab.
The rice set alone is a good amount of food to share and the soy marinated raw crab comes with its own set of banchan as well. Keep that in mind if you want to avoid over ordering. Otherwise, both these sets were delicious, especially the barley rice set. That set alone is worth coming to try. The crab was good too, very fresh and well seasoned. The market price at the time was $80 for the crab, not cheap, but you don’t find this dish often in Bay Area.
We also got the beef short ribs and bulgogi, which were all decent. Would say though for the price we’ve had the same or better in other restaurants that are cheaper.
The service was fine, but waiters brought us our bill when we barely started eating our dinner. Not sure why the rush when we were still ordering more drinks.
Overall, worth coming to try at least the barley rice set, but a bit pricey compared to other Korean restaurants in the area.

I came here because Ive beem wanting to try raw marinated crabs for many months. I found this place and came down to try the spicy crab. The restaurant is beautiful inside and the whole building is immaculately maintained. The staff went out lf there way to provide good service and they were all very nice. The food was also excellent; I really enjoyed my first raw crab experience and I hope to come back soon.

We’ve tried Damso three times now. Each time we ordered the set menu with barley rice that comes with all the lovely banchans, fish, soup, a started pumpkin soup, appetizer and dessert. Very tasty and nice presentation.
For the most part, servers were fine but one guy who is also the host refilled the wrong banchans and he didn’t allow refilling certain banchans when the requested. That’s why i dropped down one star. Also if you go closer to opening hour, the veggies are fresher.
Parking is a shared lot, gets very crowded!
The set is $39 pp and requires two orders minimum.

This Korean restaurant price is a bit high but the quality, environment and service are good.
The special thing is the meat pancake (meat joen?), which doesn’t see this dish on menu often but delicious.
We came lunch time , one pumpkin porridge , one pancake , share the short ribs + plus 18% tips , around $45 per person .

We arrived early for a birthday celebration and got a table in a private room away from the main dining area which we appreciated very much. We ordered the seafood pancake, seafood japchae, the house specialty bossom (boiled pork dish) and beef bulgogi and it came with a nice assortment of bon chan. Everything was was well seasoned, fresh and delicious. The service was as good as the food and the atmosphere was opulence with modern touches. All in an this was a great dining experience and deserves my highest recommendation.

I recently dined at Damso with my family and had an exceptional experience. Damso offers traditional Korean dishes that showcase rich flavors. We had the barley rice set, marinated raw crab, LA Galbi, beef pancake, beef tartare, and bossam. The portion of the marinated raw crab was very generous, and the beef tartare was incredibly fresh and unique. They also served sweet pumpkin porridge as an appetizer and Omeeja tea as a dessert. From start to finish, everything was perfect, and it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant’s vibe was clean and modern, and they had great service too, adding to the overall enjoyment. This restaurant offers dishes and an atmosphere that you can’t find in San Jose, and I was extremely satisfied. I look forward to visiting often in the future.

A solid spot for Korean food in the Bay Area. A welcoming atmosphere, attentive servers, and a modern, clean decor to greet you. We ordered the soy marinated raw crab, signature bossam, bulgogi mushroom jeongol, and beef tartare. Everything was well seasoned, had great presentation, and the side dishes were good. The raw marinated crab tasted fresh and there are not many places in the Bay Area that have it. The beef tartare was refreshing paired with the sides included. I do wish the bossam had more veggies to wrap with, but it was still seasoned well. The soup was flavorful and very filling. Overall, the portions were pretty big so it’s great to share with a group. I would come back to try their other dishes! And a bonus…there’s plenty of convenient parking!
