Visited for the first time today. I got the beef special. It was tasty and my server was very sweet. The sushi roll was mid-level, but I certainly wasn’t left wanting for bigger portion size. It also came with soup and a small salad.

It was actually really good, but nothing that I would make a habit.
I originally went to have an encounter with the horrible waitress that I heard about in the reviews, but either she is gone or wasn’t working at night. My waitress was sweet and attentive and handled my indecisiveness very well.
The best thing that I ate that night was RICE!
They have the best fried rice in anchorage that I’ve tried so far, so they will be my regulars for that.
As for sushi, my sushi wasn’t cold, more room temperature and slightly mushy, but the flavor was really big and the portions were big for the price.
My partner had chicken Don Buri and it was really good. Best way to describe it was an egg fu Yung patty, inside out.
My cup of miso wasn’t hot, until I ordered a second cup.
Salad was simple and small.
They give you a free fries oreo after dinner, which was a pleasant surprise and perfectly topped off our dinner.
If you just want some good cheap sushi. Then I highly recommend, but if you’re looking for a 5 star meal, this isn’t for you.

Delicious sushi for a reasonable price at a beautifully decorated restaurant!

My party ordered a sushi boat which came with two rolls and additional nigiri. We ordered additional rolls too, which was way more than enough for 3 people, as well as a chirashi bowl and some sweet sake. All of it was great.

The decor was lovely too. There was a literal koi pond at the front of the restaurant! (Hope they don’t use that for the sushi…jk)

The staff was also really nice and gave us some tempura Oreos for dessert!! (The taste was…interesting but I really appreciated the gesture )
but there was a bit of a debacle outside when we were heading home as some loiterers kind of put us in a dangerous situation by not leaving us alone. Go there during hours with light and stay safe y’all!

I wasn’t sure what to eat or where to go really since I was from out of town/state. I wanted something that said Alaska. This wasn’t what I had in mind, but what I ended up settling on. I arrived on a Thursday evening at 7:30 pm. No one was there when I walked in..not even employees that I could see. I was standing there for probably 5 minutes before someone came out. When they did it was an older lady. She told me to pick a seat so I sat in a booth and looked over the menu she gave me. I settled on a steak bento box. The box came with some tuna sushi and soup. I loved the soup, but the sushi was too warm and became a squishy type of texture. All in all though though, the flavors were great. Never saw anything to drink though on the menu nor was asked…so I had water. The older lady that was my host, she was great. So friendly and all. I almost felt like she was my grandma the way she took care of me. If I’m in town and in the mood for some Japanese…I’d definitely visit here again.

Looking for a late night meal after snowboarding all day and wanting to be away from the main part of downtown, this place did it. Great choice

I usually look over the bad and not-so bad reviews to see what was the worst day some of someone’s pathetic life that compelled them to trash the hard work of building-up a respectable business. I found some pretty bold claims, none phased me.

So I faced the -5℉ temps and went for a walk from my hotel to dine with my son. At 9pm on a weekend night, the place was empty. This usually is a really bad sign. Still willing to run the risk, we moved up to the host, equally as warm and fuzzy as the weather outside.

As we went to our table walking by the sushi bar, it looked as if they had checked out. Station cleaned, fish wrapped in plastic, no chefs at the ready. Now I’m worried.

Looking over the leignthly menu we decided 3 rolls to share and Agedashi tofu. Almost immediately we were served Miso and a small salad. Still no pleasantries from the host/server but by now it doesn’t matter.

The chef appeared, sushi was made to order and delivered shortly after. Very fresh, very good and not breaking the bank. I guess the Miso, salad and dessert was included. We couldn’t find any mention of a meal set.
Funniest part of the meal was, after we finished the main course our expressionless and generally unimpressed server cracked and said, “are you ready for your Oreos”. Not knowing what to expect we both answered “ummmm, ok?”

Minutes later two, hot out of the oil, tempura deep fried Oreos under a Denali sized frop of whipping cream drizzled with chocolate running out like an avalanche in May was set down between us.
These are not at all like the county fair versions, insanely better. GET Them!

The restaurant was clean, nice and efficient. Upon leaving we ordered some rolls to-go for others who did not want to bare the elements, it was prepped quickly and with grace. Very unassuming for a place seemingly to be attached to an Econo Lodge Motel. Don’t be scared off, this place is great !

I didnt know what to expect seeing as the restaurant is attached to a hotel. But the food was amazing. The server was even better. After we finished eating we got watermelon and a delicious warm stuffed cookie. I will definitely be back. Ronnie 2 was my go to Sushi but Dami’s atmosphere and service is so much better.

Great experience. It was my first time ever and the server was great, a bit slow on taking my money. The food was AMAZING in all the years I’ve lived in Alaska, I’m not sure why I’ve never tried it. Will be bringing my family here often. Oh and I got a complimentary fried Oreo never had one of those before and I’d say BOMB. Thanks for the great experience.

The all day Bento Box Deal is really worth it at $20. It includes a main choice of fish or meat, tempura, and 1 of their many great sushi rolls! The service has been great every time I go and the complimentary fried Oreo at the end is a great way to end your meal!

Quit sleeping on this place. The food was excellent. Service was amazing. Atmosphere was inviting. The outside gets sketchy due to the location, but once inside, it was clean and calm.
Sushi was probably the best I’ve had.
The “mama” was super hospitable and attentive.
I’m ashamed I haven’t been here before!! Run, don’t walk, to enjoy this gem!
