Came here in search of biscuits and sausage gravy.
I got the spinach, mushroom and cheese omelet, served with home fries and a side of TWO biscuits and gravy. I thought the omelet was well done, not over cooked, and seasoned just enough.
My companion got a chicken fried steak with two eggs over easy, hash browns and also TWO more biscuits and gravy. The steak was a tad dry though.
Our toddler got the macaroni & Cheese dish – it was soooo cheesy!
We came in so late for lunch that we ended up being the only ones left by the time we ended our meal.
Friendly Waitress Cheri check in on us a few times.
We let her know it was our first time coming in. You get a free GIANT cookie with that visit. (we got one chocolate chip with nuts and one oatmeal raisin). They are bigger than a toddler’s face – no lie.
Right next door is a long term stay motel – i would imagine the patrons from the hotel would be using the cafe a lot!
This place was great from the moment we walked in. It was a very cute atmosphere. Definitely would recommend this if you’re in the area. Food quality was great, we ate every bite of food even all the toast. The coffee was delicious. Overall 10/10 🙂
THE NEXT DAY:
We went again.. couldn’t say no; spectacular the service was great, the staff were super friendly!
I ordered the pot roast, which was delicious and came with a fresh side salad and bread. The ranch dressing on the salad was exceptional. My dad chose the sloppy Joe, accompanied by a salad with blue cheese dressing, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Our waitress was fantastic–funny and attentive, adding a personal touch to our evening. Although I wish I could remember her name, her service made our visit memorable.
The café boasts an impressive selection of cakes and pies, which I regrettably couldn’t try this time. However, as a lovely gesture for our first visit, we received a free cookie to take home.
As a local, I’m eager to return, especially after browsing their all-day breakfast menu. The breakfast options look fantastic, and I’m particularly excited to try them. The sandwiches also caught my eye, making future visits a must.
Overall, Dalton’s Café is a gem in Cypress, and I highly recommend it for anyone seeking delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere.
Food: 6/10
Great portions but very, very bland. I’ve never had to add so much salt and pepper to a dish. I ordered the Spanish omelet without cheese and my friend ordered the veggie omelet. They were cooked very well, but we’re in severe need of spices. The hash browns were 10/10! Best part of the whole dish.
Service: 10/10
The server was so kind, efficient and knowledgeable of the menu. I would come here again just for the service.
Ambiance: 8/10
Plenty of seating, clean and pleasant atmosphere. The chairs could use some upholstering however, no matter where I sat on my side of the booth I kept sinking into the seat from lack of cushioning and it wasn’t the most comfortable. My friend also had the same issue on her side of the booth. It’s a very nice place but could use some updates.
Overall I would probably try the other breakfast spots around due to the lack of seasonings, but if you want to try out a place we’re the people who work there have a great attitude, this would be your spot.
