This was a good decision. This place is less than a year old. The staff was friendly and welcoming. This establishment has an inside and outside seating to eat. The outside is heated and enclosed. There’s a fully stocked bar on the inside.
We got a kids meal at 8 bucks. It was a hamburger tater tot drink, and some ice cream all included for that one price. We tried the ribs, hamburgers, okra, mashed potatoes and gravy, which I loved and the onion rings were so light and crispy. The food really taste freshly cooked l. (Thank you) The restrooms were clean . The restaurant is located downtown Dallas. We parked in the front onstreet parking. I think there’s parking in the back. I would definitely recommend this place. They have a kids menu and they give kids coloring paper and ️ to keep them entertained. They have a 20% discount for EMS first responders & veterans. The discount goes only to the person who has the ID not the whole ticket.
I didn’t get to meet the owners, but I did get to meet the manager on duty and she was super cool thank you for your service Cheyenne

My family and I had a great lunch. The kitchen seemed a bit overwhelmed and running behind but our waitress made everything acceptable. We will definitely be back.

The Dallas Tavern and Taphouse catered my and my Husband’s wedding reception and it was amazing! We had the Italian Bar and everyone loved it! The Chicken Alfredo was awesome, the Spaghetti and Meatballs were amazing, everyone loved the salad and bread… BUT THE LASAGNA WAS THE BEST! I’d risk life and limb for the lasagna! If it is a regular menu item please expect me to visit your establishment, either way the food we had was perfect enough that we’ll gladly drop by! Thank you!

This is a place me and my family go to weekly. They have the friendlyest and fastest employees around. I ate there targeel burger it was devine. Chili,slaw, onions on a cheeseburger is the best. Please come down to Sammy’s it’s so good

Joslin was an outstanding server. She was knowledgeable about the menu and was super friendly. She checked on us and brought fresh drinks without us asking. The food was delicious and background music was good. The restaurant itself could use a refresh (seating, wall decor) but that will come in time. We do recommend this restaurant. Hubs had the meatloaf entree and I had the cheeseburger for lunch.

We went on Saturday to have a nice dinner with my husband, since we saw it had changed owners from Sammy’s to its new name. Kenzie was our server, and the manager we spoke with and asked questions was Jordan. I loved that they were super helpful in giving us suggestions.
We shared southwestern egg rolls and wings. While the egg rolls were from a frozen brand, they were pretty good. Honestly, although we were told the wings were fresh, they tasted old or frozen.
I will add that the sauce they make is so yummy. We had the honey sriracha sauce and asked for the wings to be blackened. They also make their ranch in-house, but I found it to be slightly watery, but good in flavor.
My meal was the cheesesteak, and I definitely enjoyed it. The side I tried first was the mac and cheese, but as I said, it was drier than my jokes ♀️. So I asked to try something else, which was their roasted vegetables, and I asked if they could be sautéed. I can honestly say I’m not a fan of either. Just in case, I am definitely not a picky person.
My husband had a triple-decker club sandwich . He enjoyed it very much.
I was told they are planning renovations, including new paint and bench repairs. They will also extend the patio at a later date. The problem is that I feel it could be better; we find the space slightly outdated and in need of some love. The restaurant feels a little dark. The food quality is not my favorite. The staff is sweet and courteous. I suggested that even changing the tabletops would make a huge impact. This is my review and my opinion, but I will always try to be honest from my point of view.

This place has stopped producing several meals since they took over from SAMMIES. It has gone a bit downhill. The food choices they do have are decent and filling. The wings need to be fried to a more crisp texture before saucing.
Burgers have been overdone. Chili is a 3 alarm disaster. Fish was dry. I keep giving them chances after each failure. Their Tacos on Tuesday are good tasting. Standard fare of tomato, lettuce, cheese and sour cream.. served with chips and a passable salsa. The salads are huge and plentiful. Some of the appetizers can be a meal in itself. The Quesadilla is one of those appetizers. Yes, it is worth visiting, yet careful what you order.
They do have a full bar, but have tried none of their fare. Do need a better selection of desserts.

My wife and I stopped by Dallas Tavern and Taphouse, the other day, for an afternoon snack. We shared two large pretzels and an order of chicken nachos. The pretzels were hot, fresh and delicious. The nachos were good, but not great. The service was very good. The bench seats had very little padding, and were less than comfortable.
