I go whenever I want to experience authentic Spanish cuisine without leaving Boston. The food is always delicious and full of flavor, and the atmosphere truly transports you to Spain. The best part is Julio, the bartender — warm, welcoming, and special — who makes every visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place, a bucket list spot that I finally visited after years of contemplating. Went alone and got a bar seat after a 10-15 min wait. It was a Friday evening so I did expect some wait time. Julio behind the bar has been working at Dali since 25 odd years and his attention to patrons is impeccable. They have a real personality behind the bar. The person sat next to me has been a regular for over 20 years and she gave me some good insights about why this place has been thriving!

I got the ajo soup and the bolitas de queso to start. Superb. Their Tempranillo offering was fantastic and they also make a mean house margarita. I ordered the Crema Catalana for dessert and it was delicious! I also got a shot for funsies, “Brazilian Wax” which was cachaca, mango purée and fresh lime juice. Would 100% order it next time too.

They have a fun way to celebrate birthdays and on my visit I was able to see a few of them being celebrated. I love how the restaurant staff goes beyond the regular to satisfy their patrons. The place was vibing as I got there and it was still full when I left. The food, service and atmosphere are all top notch.

Will definitely be returning with some friends soon.

Extremely cool place with great service and food. Reserved a place in advance, and even through confusion they accommodated our group. Food was amazing and tapas based, recommend 1-2 dishes per person and a big dish. Cocktails were great as well. It was packed both coming in and leaving, so I highly recommend a reservation.

Julio at the bar (see his handsome photo) makes the experience at this restaurant truly special.

He lifted up my spirits and completely changed my mood within 15 minutes after a long week of exhausting work. No exaggeration. He took care of us with humor and spread his happiness to everyone at the bar.

Of course I won’t belabor any reader about the excellent food and impeccable vibe at this place. The moment you stepped into their heavy wooden door, you traveled to another world that’s completely opposite to the outside.

Just for seating info, we didn’t make reservation but just walked in for the bar on a Friday night. We waited for less than 10 minutes and were served by the enthusiastic receptionist in the meantime.

Happy 19th Wedding Anniversary to me! That’s right – it’s been 19 years since my wedding day…which literally seems like an eternity ago! (And I mean that in a good way, lol!)

To celebrate, the hubs and I wined and dined at one of our favorite tapas spots – Dali! We ordered many small plates, but started eating them before a photo could be snapped. So, for this review, I’ll only be reviewing the paella and the churros.

We made reservations for 5:30 PM on a Sunday evening, right when doors open. Twenty minutes after being seated, the restaurant was packed. The interior is whimsically and thoughtfully decorated. It was all very colorful, fun, and welcoming. Customers seemed comfortable and at ease. The staff was very nice, personable, and very helpful when it came to answering menu questions.

The Valenciana Paella came with chicken, chorizo, shrimp, shellfish, and lima beans. The flavor was decent, but we thought it could have been a bit more flavorful. From my time in Spain, I seem to recall there also being a crunchy layer of rice at the bottom of the paella, but in this case, there wasn’t. It tasted more like creamy risotto. While it didn’t hit the same way we remember paella in Spain, it was still pretty tasty and, of course, we devoured it.

The churros were perfect. Perfectly fried – crispy on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside. While the churros were good on their own, we still opted to dip them in Chocolate Sauce and Dulce de Leche. I could eat these all day long.

We ordered a bottle of wine, but prior to making a decision, our waiter let us try 2-3 different wines, which was super nice. There were plenty of cocktails available and many people were drinking the sangria. Before the evening was over, the staff went from table to table singing and presenting a candle for each of the different celebrants to blow out. Don’t get me wrong – I don’t mind a complimentary dessert with a candle…but the staff was so energetic and lively making that candle more than sufficient.

Overall, Dali offers a complete package of vibe, a comfy-cozy setting, tasty foods, and refreshing beverages. We highly recommend it, and we’ll definitely be back!

Overall I really like my experience. Our server was nice, service flow / pace made sense, food was good value for the taste and quality of ingredients. The shrimp in the paella and duck tapas was slightly dry, but otherwise everything was on point. For reference, Without drinks, I spent $35-40 on food (pre tax and tips) sharing with 2 friends. With drinks, they spent about $70-115.

Small feedback: I probably mistakenly reserved for 4 people instead of 3. This led to a bit of tension and confusion with one of the front desk staff, to whom I was slightly displeased at due to her attitude. But we were walked to our table quickly and everything was uphill after.

Overall, I had a great time and would love to come back!

On our last night in Boston, we decided to try Dali. There were no available tables, so we chose to sit at the bar. No regrets! The food was good and my wife loved the sangria, but what truly made the evening unforgettable was Julio’s warm and vibrant personality, which turned a simple dinner into a delightful experience. I was accompanied by my wife and my youngest son, and we all left completely satisfied and smiling. Without a doubt, Dali is a place I would gladly return to.
