We come often with my partner and my mother, and they truly know what we like, which makes every visit special. We will miss Jocelyn so much and are sad she isn’t here anymore. She was truly an amazing asset to this place. That said, we’re very happy to now have Kayla in the bar area. She’s been taking great care of us lately and we absolutely love her!
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and seated promptly for our reservation. Every staff member we encountered was welcoming, and our server, Abby, was attentive and personable throughout the evening.
I ordered the hickory-smoked prime rib, cooked perfectly to medium, and it was outstanding. Our entire party loved their entrées, and the shared sides—mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, asparagus, and creamed spinach—were all delicious.
If you’re looking for an elevated dining experience in Dallas, I highly recommend Dakota’s Steakhouse. It’s the perfect spot for a special occasion or an unforgettable night out.
Hors d’oeuvres and presentation are comparable to Michelin recognized spots around the world. Apps selection is small but has all the steakhouse staples – the pork belly is my favorite and highly recommended. Salads and soups skipped this time but again staples are all there – the wedge and french onion soup are quite good and my go to. Mains were good and steak was cooked to perfection. Get their Beef Wellington if it hasn’t sold out! The tiramisu cheesecake is one of our favorites – light and delicious, perfect for 2. Recommend the Crystal Cactus if you want an amazingly refreshing and crisp margarita, otherwise stick to your full bodied Cabs to pair with your steak.
The atmosphere at Dakota’s is unbeatable, ranking in my top 10 restaurant ambiences worldwide. The elegant and inviting setting creates the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal.
As for the food, it did not disappoint. I had the ribeye boneless, cooked to a perfect medium well, while my father enjoyed the filet, also cooked to perfection. Both dishes were flavorful and expertly prepared.
The only reason I’m giving Dakota’s Steakhouse four stars instead of five is due to the dessert, which didn’t quite match the high standards set by the rest of the meal. However, this is a minor drawback in an otherwise exceptional dining experience.
Overall, I highly recommend Dakota’s Steakhouse. Indulge in their offerings and enjoy the impeccable service and outstanding atmosphere.

WHAT THEY’RE KNOWN FOR: underground steakhouse that’s been open for business for years now in downtown Dallas. Beef Wellington is very known here too.
THE VIBE: underground, sultry, dark and moody.
PRICE: ~$200-$250
WOULD I COME BACK? No.

Overall Rating: 4/10
– I have heard many good things about his place but recently I’ve heard repeating customers say that the quality and taste has gone down. Well the time I went, it wasn’t good.
– The duck pasta had a weird tart taste. I wasn’t a fan. The pasta was definitely undercooked.
– The beef Wellington was good but it was my first time having it so I get even compare it to see if it was the best ever. The steak was good. The sauce was decent.
– My favorite was actually the oyster Rockefeller it had lots of flavor.
– Brussel sprouts were too salty and way too wet.
– The service was okay. I would’ve appreciated if they told the drunk guy next to us to be quiet bc he definitely interrupted the ambiance.
