What a surprising find!

We were the first diners to arrive for lunch and there were no other cars, so our expectations were not high. HOWEVER, that changed as soon as we walked through the door.

First, having a meal at Dakota’s Restaurant is like sharing a meal with your grandma – excellent food and beautiful souls serving you. The ladies (and I saw a gentleman in the kitchen) are all sweet, hustling, kind, and attentive to your every need.

I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger, 100% Angus Beef, and when I saw “chips” as the side I was anticipating a bag of chips – but these were homemade and DELICIOUS! I had their sweet tea, which I could have drunk a gallon.

I had a bit of my sister’s Chicken Fried Steak sandwich (she got it sans bun) and it was HUGE and so tasty! Her baked potato was loaded and baked to perfection.

The ladies serving were plentiful and touched base to make sure we had everything we needed. They said that they appreciated our visit and hoped that they would see us again. I have to mention that our bill was beyond a great deal!

I left feeling wonderfully full – my tummy and my soul.

What a completely delightful experience and I will be back soon. Oh, and the entire parking lot and the dining room were full to bursting by the time we left. I guess the word’s out!

Absolutely delicious food! I am so happy I found this gem here in Blanchard. My mother introduced me to this place and I am now sharing it with my co workers. I love that you can order over the phone for pick up or go inside and eat. Keep up the great work!!! 10 out of 10 I recommend!

Was in town and decided to give this place a try and boy am I glad we did! We were seated promptly and the staff was very friendly. Our drinks were served quickly and our food wasn’t far behind. I had the special of the day which was all you can eat fish and it had a good taste and wasn’t too greasy. My wife got a BBQ platter and it came with a good amount of food as well as she got the smoked mac and cheese as a side and she absolutely loved it. The dessert was fresh and good as well. We will definitely be stopping back by again if only to grab a side of smoked mac and cheese for the road! I would highly recommend this place if you’re ever in the area!

Chicken fried steak was cold when it came out, then second time, you can taste it was microwaved. Photo shows the original and then the microwave version. Then they had the nerve to charge us for it. If it was good, I wouldn’t have a problem paying for it. Won’t be back.

Dakota’s never disappoints! If you want good, local, home cooked food, give them a try. They are very supportive of their community and cater a lot of the luncheons and banquets around also. I would tell you what to order, but honestly, it’s all good. The last time I went, I got the chicken fried steak and loved it!

After a must unfortunate interview my husband and I were looking for some form of sustenance in route back to the house.

We decided to stop in at Dakota’s where we waited to be seated and looked over the specials. My husband ordered a sweet tea while I ordered an unsweet tea w/lemon after being seated.

The teas arrived and we placed our orders. My husband ordered the fried bologna sandwich with a mac and cheese as well as a bowl of beans and side of cornbread, with myself selecting the fried bologna sandwich and chips.

As we settled in my husband asked me to confirm that he did order a sweet tea as he usually does. He audibly had as he always does. Yet was given unsweet though without a lemon.

The sandwiches were delicious, the bologna was well cooked and the dressings fresh. We were able to see why it was one of the specials for today.

Unfortunate, when our food arrived, my husbands mac and cheese was cold yet somehow the cheese remained liquidus… perhaps heavily watered down? His bowl of beans was also cold. When the waitress came around to check on us he requested a couple of to go containers so he could reheat them once home.

The waitress did offer to have them reheated however we were ready to head home. As my chips were also cold and somehow soggy? Though saw no point in mentioning it at this point.

We approach the register to pay where we are asked how everything was. My husband responded that his sides were cold, which is when the hostess rang in “he should have said something”… i say this now as at the time it was not warrented, with all do respect Ma’am, he did when requesting the to go boxes.

2 out of 10 shall not be eating here again.

Dakota’s is everything you want in a small-town diner—cozy, welcoming, and filled with the kind of comfort food that keeps you coming back. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with friendly faces and that true hometown atmosphere that makes you feel like family.

One of my favorite touches is the drinks served in mason jars—it’s simple, but it adds so much charm and makes the experience feel even more authentic. And the food? Absolutely incredible. The catfish is some of the best I’ve ever had—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned perfectly. Pair it with the fried okra, and you’ve got the perfect Southern meal.

The Dakota’s chicken is another standout—it always comes out piping hot, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. Every bite reminds you why this place is a local favorite.

The service is just as memorable as the food. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and quick to make sure you feel right at home. It’s clear they care about their customers, which makes the whole dining experience even better.

What makes Dakota’s truly special isn’t just the food (though it’s amazing), but the way it feels—like a gathering place where everyone is welcome. Whether you’re stopping by for the first time or you’re a regular, Dakota’s never disappoints.

Our first time, waited 1 hour 20 minutes. Four people in our party. Seem several people leave because of the wait. Grated it was Friday night.
