Service was great! The food was just OK. Potato pancakes were not crispy. The Chicken Paprikash was very good but the accompanying green beans and spätzle were pretty basic. The cucumber salad was awesome. Pretzel was good. Schnitzel was OK, just needed some seasoning. The desserts were a hit. The strudel and brownie dish were better than the pązcki.
Overall this place is about the experience. People sing along with the piano player. There was a nice mix of traditional German music and 80s. Keep in mind that the restaurant is loud-great for a fun group night.
Also, there was a very nice security guard watching the fenced in parking lot. It’s a small lot but there is additional parking in the street.
This historic German establishment has a bar in their basement filled with so many choices of wines to either drink on the premises or bottles to buy and take home.
The main floor is exceptionally lively with Jerry at the old piano playing a wide array German songs (sing along) as well as many requests for your favorite tunes. The main floor has bar and table seating.
This atmosphere is definitely for groups who love to laugh and have a good time!!
The service was terrible. Our server didn’t check on us, offer water refills, or even ask if we wanted another drink until much later in the meal. She did manage to step out of the restaurant twice in the 45 minutes we were there, presumably to take a break.
The food was absolutely abysmal. The potato pancake was soggy, and it arrived within minutes of ordering, if that’s any indication. The beets were bland and served in large chunks. The red cabbage was salty, and the vegan schnitzel was filled with oil or butter.
Overall, it was a complete disappointment. I strongly advise against dining at this restaurant.
