Wow, I am a regular consumer of vegan food (I’m not vegan) and this is by far the best! I went on a Sunday and didn’t know that they don’t have their regular menu on Sunday’s. Instead, they have a soul food bar. I got the bowl in which you can get whatever you want. The employee hooked me up and gave me a little bit of everything. My faves were the veggie medley, the bbq tofu, THE MAC N CHEESE AND PEACH COBBLER!! best I’ve ever had in my life, vegan or not. If it wasn’t so far I would have been back by now. 10/10 would recommend.

Daisy’s Cafe is a family-owned and operated vegan restaurant located in the Chicagoland suburb of South Holland. The cafe has been serving up delicious vegan food for over 10 years, and it’s clear that the owners are passionate about their craft.

Would I come back? Yes to try other food items so that I can make it myself (SERIOUSLY LOL). The flavors of my wrap were good though. The atmosphere is odd and not welcoming. The woman is giving “Im not happy with myself vibes”. Very rude, dismissive very odd. Like do you like your job or not? If not its simple go somewhere else. However, I don’t see that happening as shes very bland and unseasoned in Character at her big age. The rest of the staff I caught looking at me every time I looked up. But no one actually speaks/greet you its just weird. Happy to get acquainted with the flavors and watch as someone else opens and succeeds in this cuisine. I make a better wrap at home!

Can’t even tell there’s a restaurant there, parking is sparse. Two people working, waited about 5 minutes before they even realized I was there. (Which I get it, there’s only two people). Told me it would be 25-30 minutes for two combo meals: rib tips and the Jerusalem gyro. It did take 25 minutes and the food is mediocre. Fries are done but they don’t look like they are, not crispy at all . Food is just meh. The gyro is super soggy and doesn’t have much flavor. Not worth the hassle unfortunately. I was really looking forward to trying this place out.

I really enjoyed the food from here. The items are traditional southern vegan dishes. I appreciate that it isn’t overly seasoned or salty and The Smokey protein and avocado wrap was absolutely delicious. If I had known how great it was I would’ve ordered two to go instead of one!

Smoke protein wrap was exceptional! On the other hand my onion rings looked and tasted as if they had been recooked several times. I order a protein wrap and onion rings, and it literally took over an hour for my food to be ready. Other than poor cook/waiting time .. 6/10 would recommend

I really enjoyed my experience here. I visited on the first Sunday of September. Every first Sunday they offer their vegan soul food plate that came with: Vegan Roast, Dressing with gravy, macaroni and cheese, greens, candied yams, a choice between orange lentil soup or salad (I ate the soup) and peach cobbler for desert. A very nice portion size and with tax it was $24.80 I believe. You get your monies worth. I also ordered the citrus splash detox smoothie OMG phenomenal and I don’t think I got the name correct but they will know what you are talking about if you ask about it.

So, I just experienced a medical crisis and I was looking for something that wasn’t deep fried and covered in sauce. The place is very new to me so I walked in and headed straight for the juice bar where I ordered a Tropical Breeze. The tropical breeze is a deliscious medley of citrus fruit and berries. I talked for a few minutes with a few brothers who were more knowledge about the restaurant than me. I opted for Mac and cheese, cabbage, sweet potatoes, and Jerusalem salad (I think, but it was good). I had a wonderful meal although it isn’t heavily salt seasoned, it is seasoned very well.

The menu does not say the gyro has tomatoes in it. Secondly, the customer service was bad. The lady at the counter presence was just rude. The food was nasty. The gyro sauce has lasting nasty taste. I have been a vegetarian for 3 years. Some may like the food but to me it was not it.
