Paid $14 for 2 things of ice cream. One was suppose to be a mint chocolate sundae and even looks green on their photo. Only mint in it was on top. Was just a chocolate shake.
Second one was suppose to be a sundae and they didn’t even fill the small cup up. Filled the outside edge of it and topped it with whipped cream. Not worth what you pay. Better off going to the local grocery store and making your own.

Whenever we go on vacation, I make a point to find a place locals like, and Dairy Twist did not disappoint. In fact, we visited this spot twice in our weeklong vacation.
The food is great and reasonably priced. My children and I enjoyed great burgers that tasted like they were grilled at home, and my wife got a fried chicken sandwich that was tasty. The fries were hot and delicious as well.
The staff was always incredibly friendly and eager to help with recommendations. One small note: it is cash only.
However, you stop here for ice cream, and you will love it. If you’ve ever been in the Omaha area and have tried Zesto’s ice cream, it is that level of creaminess, but at a better price. I also got on of their specialty shakes—the Oreo Mint Marvel—the first time, and it just felt like the perfect mixture of flavor and small-town, summer nostalgia.
The atmosphere of eating outside was wonderful as well, seeing the hills around you as you enjoy a local hotspot, it was my favorite moment of our entire vacation.

A very popular spot!! Food and treats are delicious and prices are reasonable. The service is friendly and quick. It’s a walk up and order place with limited seating indoors and picnic tables outdoors. You will be glad if you go!

Wonderful family owned ice cream stand that is definitely worth a stop! Lots of choices of both hot food and cold treats. Ice cream is simply delicious- order at least a medium cone! Prices are very reasonable and service is awesome!

We were driving past and decided to stop for lunch and this old school drive up restaurant. We were so glad we stopped here. I had the Hot Shot burger and fries and it was the best burger I have had in years!!! My wife had the bacon, Swiss and chicken sandwich and it reminded her of a sandwich she had 40 years ago. The French fries were shore string fries and were hot and crisp. We sat there as we ate and talked about how good this food was and how glad we were we decided to stop. And the folks that worked there had personalities to match the food. They were so nice and welcoming. South Dakota should be very proud of this place and its people, they represent the state well. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a great meal!

We ate here a few years ago and had to come back while visiting the area again. The staff is friendly and the food was outstanding. We had the bacon cheese burger with fries and a double bacon burger with onion rings. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely be eating here again.

Excellent for ice cream and fast food items like hot dogs and burgers. Best banana splits and sundays anywhere in the Blackhills. They do seem to have a problem having chocolate soft serve ice cream readily available. 2 of last 3 times we’ve been there chocolate wasn’t available. Disappointed grandchildren was the result.
Also we recommend they find a way to stay open for business until at least after the Buffalo Rally. They are one of the very earliest businesses to close for the season . Also it would be an improvement if they would accept debit/C.C. payments. Currently they only accept cash.

The Floral Punk (Proxy of Hearts)
This adorable, tiny shop is cash only and incredibly placed in scenic forest wonder. There’s lots of places outside to eat what you pick, but if the sun is too hot, the have the option of a small indoor eating area as well. An unexpected stop for my roadtrip, but a perfect treat for a hot day. Definitely stop by this cute spot!

Beware! Great ice cream, little sprinkles. I bought my daughter an ice cream cone from a sweet old lady. I was charged double for the amount the sign said. Needless to say, I won’t be going back. Bummer. Confused
