It seems the employees don’t know how to use their own register when a customer buys the 2 for $5 deal. The employees were slow, clueless at the prices, argumentative with their own advertising.

What does 2 for $5 mean? It says mix and match, any two. Why did they try to charge me $5.00 per sundae? How many customers are they doing this to? The one lady employee walked around the register to read their own marketing screen, as if it was foreign to them. I said two sundaes, the lady employee said you can’t do that. Other customers spoke up on my behalf and tried to explain to the lady employee what that meant saying of course I could order that. The male employee had no clue what size the 2 for $5 included.

Can dairy queen just hire people with basic common sense skills? I felt that this was a clear example of false advertisment, deception to the consumer.

Additionally, they need to CLEARLY put prices up for their other items. I have a feeling this is done intentionally and I don’t like it!!!

It’s good ice cream, but the level of employee incompetence is a red flag. WATCH every penny these people charge when ringing you up.

Dairy Queen, please set your bar higher other than having a pulse to work there.

I saw your response, owner. ANY two, means ANY two. Consider changing the diction to avoid ambiguity. Actually, think about it, what’s it to them if I choose two sundaes? It’s after all what my kids who were with me at the time wanted.

Check out my receipt image below. NOTE, how the cashier had to ring it up! Technically, they didn’t ring it up correctly, either!

It’s even more concerning to me and it should be to every consumer the way this business owner replied. Substandard customer service skills must be the norm for DAIRY QUEEN! Owner, why does it say ANY TWO (see image below)?

I would definitely steer clear of these types of businesses. Imagine what they try to get away with on a daily basis with their consumers.

Shame on Dairy Queen! They lost customers today from today’s negative and unnecessary experience.

Why not just apologize and listen to the multiple customers in line? Why not just be good to your customers? Is it that hard, Dairy Queen?

I encourage you to read ALL the one star reviews to understand other people’s experiences too. Clearly, there are problems!

We frequent this location all the time, the staff is wonderful and one of the girls even knows my son’s order by heart! The owner does a lot for the schools and surrounding community! This Dairy Queen is definitely our go-to location!

A very friendly environment. The guy was a sweetheart with the customers. Gave a customer free ice cream for his dog. An elderly person asked for a cup of water and he got a free water bottle. What a kind person. I like seeing things like that. We had a banana split and a Mr freeze. One more thing, when you walk in you can smell the cleanliness.

I have a positive experience every time I go to this shop. The owner is incredibly helpful and always makes sure the customer is happy. I got a great ice cream cake with very little notice AND a custom graphic, all with very little lead time. I’m so impressed!!!

Tried the hot fudge sundae at Dairy Queen. The warm fudge with cold vanilla soft serve is such a comforting combo. The portion size is just right and it feels like childhood in a cup. The owner Ankit ( Andy) was really welcoming and jolly.

On August 18th I ordered a ice cream cake for pick up on August 20th, the day comes to pick up my order I called before picking up to see if it was ready I called about 4 times and no answer. I get to the Dairy Queen and I see an upset costumer walk out I proceed to go in I’m waiting for 5 minutes already and no worker in sight another customer comes in she waits for 10 minutes still no worker in sight costumer left I have now been waiting for 15 minutes I decide to give them another 5 mins it’s been 20 minutes nothing at all no noise no peep nothing. I call while I’m still in the store waiting the phone rang and no one picked it up at this point I’m very upset because I’ve been in the store for 30 mins now and I still haven’t received my order so I leave the store and luckily another Dairy Queen on Barrington rd had the same cake I ordered in stock. Terribly experience will NOT be returning to this location at all!!!!!

Update 6/30/23: I ordered a cake from this location for my boyfriend’s 40th. When he tried his first piece he said, “You can tell this was made with love.” The owner made the ordering of the cake super easy and made his cake with care. Thank you!
2022: Love that they have old menu items, and the owner is always there working his tail off with the kindest greeting.

I strongly feel ever single employee can be a little kinder to the elderly and a little smile on their young faces can go a long way. My dad is deaf and can’t here in one ear and these employee don’t really like to repeat themselves. I hear a lot of “what man?” To my father and that to me is so disrespectful and kids that are working in this location need to relate better to their elders, be respectful, don’t assume eveyone is able to see perfectly fine where is able to hear at all and put yourself in my position in imagine if it was your father or mother soft spoken a lil shy and put yourself in the other person shoes and show a lot more RESPECT For all people period . Oh will you greet us all with as if we are welcomed into your store instead of looking down and waiting to he spoken to why not put a damn smile on your face DAILY AND do a better job! This goes for the managers too very rude and it looks like you hate your job! Do better people really.
